因為我們知道，基督既然從死裡復活了，就不會再死，死亡也不能再控制祂。

For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.

罪不能再主宰你們，因為你們已經不在律法之下，而是在恩典之中。

因此，我的心歡喜，我的靈快樂，我的身體也安然無恙。你不會把我的靈魂撇在陰間，也不會讓你的聖者身體朽壞。你把生命之路指示我，你右手有永遠的福樂，我在你面前充滿喜樂。

事實上，從亞當到摩西的時代，死亡一直辖制著人類，甚至連那些不與亞當犯同樣罪的人也不能倖免。亞當是將要來的那位的預表。

而基督一次獻上自己成為永遠的贖罪祭後，就坐在上帝的右邊，等待祂的仇敵成為祂的腳凳。

所以祂能拯救那些靠著祂來到上帝面前的人，直到永遠，因為祂永遠活著，為他們祈求。

但上帝為祂解除了死亡的痛苦，使祂從死裡復活，因為祂不可能被死亡拘禁。論到耶穌，大衛曾說，『我看見主常在我面前，祂在我右邊，我必不動搖。因此我的心歡喜，我的口頌讚，我的身體也要活在盼望中。因為你不會把我的靈魂撇在陰間，也不會讓你的聖者身體朽壞。你已把生命之路指示我，叫我在你面前充滿喜樂。』

因為眾兒女都是血肉之軀，所以祂也同樣取了血肉之軀，為要親身經歷死亡，藉此摧毀掌握死亡權勢的魔鬼，釋放那些因怕死而一生做奴隸的人。
