我們知道，我們的舊人已經和祂一同釘在十字架上，使辖制我們身體的罪失去力量，使我們不再做罪的奴隸。

應知吾人之故我、已與之同釘於十字架上；於是罪孽之身、已蕩然毀滅、而吾人不復為罪孽之奴矣。

For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—

We know that what we used to be was nailed to the cross with him. That happened so our bodies that were ruled by sin would lose their power. So we are no longer slaves of sin.

我已經與基督一同被釘在十字架上，現在活著的不再是我，而是基督活在我裡面。我現在是靠信上帝的兒子而活著，祂愛我，為我捨命。

至於我自己，我絕不誇耀別的，只誇耀我們主耶穌基督的十字架。因為對我來說，世上的一切都已經被釘在十字架上；對這世界來說，我已經被釘在十字架上。

那些屬基督的人已經把罪惡的本性和本性裡的邪情私慾都釘在十字架上了。

就應該與從前的生活方式一刀兩斷，脫去因私慾的迷惑而漸漸敗壞的舊人，

耶穌說：「我實實在在地告訴你們，所有犯罪的人都是罪的奴隸。奴隸不能永遠留在主人的家裡，只有兒子才可以。所以，如果上帝的兒子釋放了你們，你們就真正自由了！

所以，你們要治死身上屬世的罪惡，如淫亂、污穢、邪情、惡慾和貪心，貪心就是拜偶像，

不要彼此說謊，因為你們已經脫去了舊人和舊的行為，穿上了新人。這新人在知識上不斷更新，更像他的造物主。

你們若隨從罪惡本性活著，必定死亡；但若靠著聖靈除去身體的惡行，就必活著。

但現在你們已從罪中得到釋放，作了上帝的奴僕，這樣會使你們聖潔，最終得到永生。

我真是苦啊！誰能救我脫離這個被死亡控制的身體呢？感謝上帝，祂藉著我們的主耶穌基督救了我！這樣看來，我的內心服從上帝的律法，但我罪惡的本性卻服從犯罪的律。

你們也在基督裡受了非人手所行的割禮，是基督為除掉你們的罪惡本性而行的割禮。你們接受洗禮時已經與基督一同埋葬了，並藉著相信上帝使基督從死裡復活的大能，與基督一同復活了。

律法因為人性軟弱而無法成就的事，上帝親自成就了。祂差遣自己的兒子成為和罪人一樣有血有肉的人，作了贖罪祭，廢掉了罪的權勢，使律法公義的要求實現在我們這些不隨從罪惡本性，只隨從聖靈而活的人身上。

我們的上帝耶和華啊！在你以外曾有別的主人管轄我們，但我們只尊崇你的名。

所以，不要讓罪辖制你們必死的身體，使你們順從身體的私慾；

乃縵說：「如果你不肯接受禮物，請你容許僕人用兩頭騾子馱些泥土回去。從此以後，我不再獻燔祭或平安祭給其他神明，只獻給耶和華。
