不但如此，我們竟拿苦難而歡喜誇勝呢，因為知道苦難能生出堅忍，

不僅如此，我們也以患難誇耀，因為我們知道患難生出忍耐，

不第此也、亦樂於患難、蓋知患難生強忍、

不第此、所喜又在患難、蓋知患難生強忍、

不第此也、亦以患難為樂、以患難為樂或作因患難而誇因知患難生忍耐、

不寧惟是、吾人雖處患難、心中恆有至樂。蓋知患難所以生堅忍、

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;

And that’s not all. We are full of joy even when we suffer. We know that our suffering gives us the strength to go on.

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.

And not only that, but we also boast in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance,

And not only this, but we also celebrate in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;

And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;

And not only so, but we also rejoice in our tribulations: knowing that tribulation worketh stedfastness;

And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance,

And not only[ so], but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations,knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.

Blessed is a person who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love him.

He has said to me,“ My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, and in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.

But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed.“ Don’t fear what they fear, neither be troubled.”

Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude and mock you, and throw out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake.Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven, for their fathers did the same thing to the prophets.

For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory,

Yes, and if I am poured out on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice, and rejoice with you all.In the same way, you also rejoice, and rejoice with me.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?Even as it is written,“ For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

They therefore departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for Jesus’ name.

“ By your endurance you will win your lives.

Therefore I ask that you may not lose heart at my troubles for you, which are your glory.

Are they servants of Christ?( I speak as one beside himself.) I have been a night and a day in the deep.I have been in travels often, perils of rivers, perils of robbers, perils from my countrymen, perils from the Gentiles, perils in the city, perils in the wilderness, perils in the sea, perils among false brothers;in labor and travail, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, and in cold and nakedness.Besides those things that are outside, there is that which presses on me daily: anxiety for all the assemblies.Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is caused to stumble, and I don’t burn with indignation?If I must boast, I will boast of the things that concern my weakness.

For they indeed, for a few days, punished us as seemed good to them; but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness.All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

But if one of you suffers for being a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this matter.For the time has come for judgment to begin with the household of God. If it begins first with us, what will happen to those who don’t obey the Good News of God?

Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf,

Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.“ Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake.Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
