正好像罪藉着一个人入了世界，死又是从罪来的，所以死就临到所有人，因为所有人都犯了罪。

这就如罪是从一人入了世界，死又是从罪来的，于是死就临到众人，因为众人都犯了罪。

为此，正如罪是从一人进入世界，死又从罪而来，于是死就临到所有的人，因为人人都犯了罪。

为此，正如罪是从一人进入世界，死又从罪而来，于是死就临到所有的人，因为人人都犯了罪。

因此，罪怎样从一个人进入世界并带来了死亡，死亡也怎样临到了全人类，因为全人类都犯了罪。

所以，正如罪是藉著一個人進入了世界，並且死是藉著罪進入的；這樣，因為人人都犯了罪，死也就臨到了所有的人。

是以罪由一人入世、因罪而有死、於是死延於眾、以皆獲罪也、

且以一人、在世有罪、因罪而死、於是人皆有罪、人皆有死、

是以自從罪由一人入世、死因罪而有、則死臨於眾人、以眾人犯罪、

夫罪緣一人之身、而侵入斯世；罪之所至、死則隨之；人皆有罪、亦皆有死。

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—

死既藉着一人而来，死人复活也藉着一人而来。在亚当里众人都死了，照样，在基督里众人也都要复活；

因着那一人的悖逆，众人就被列为罪人；照样，因着这一人的顺服，众人也被列为义人了。

因为罪的工价就是死，但神的恩赏，在我们的主基督耶稣里，却是永生。

只是那知善恶树的果子，你不可吃；因为你吃的时候，你必要死。”

因为人人都犯了罪，亏缺了神的荣耀，

私欲怀了胎，就生出罪；罪长成了，就产生死亡。

你必汗流满面，才有饭吃，直到你归回地土，因为你是从地土取出来的；你既然是尘土，就要归回尘土。”

看哪，我是在罪孽里生的；我母亲在罪中怀了我。

罪藉着死掌权；照样，恩典也藉着义掌权，使人藉着我们的主耶稣基督进入永生。

于是，女人见那棵树的果子好作食物，又悦人的眼目，而且讨人喜爱，能使人有智慧，就摘下果子来吃了；又给了和她在一起的丈夫，他也吃了。

死亡和阴间也被抛在火湖里。这火湖就是第二次的死。凡是名字没有记在生命册上的，他就被抛在火湖里。

看哪！所有的人都是属我的，作父亲的怎样属我，作儿子的也怎样属我，唯独犯罪的，才会灭亡。

我们在许多的事上都有过错，假如有人在言语上没有过错，他就是完全的人，也能够控制全身。

可是，从亚当到摩西，死就掌权了，甚至那些不像亚当那样犯罪的人，也在死的权下；亚当正是要来的那一位的预表。但恩赏和过犯是截然不同的；如果因着那一人的过犯，众人都死了，神的恩典和这一人耶稣基督在恩典里的赏赐，对众人就更加丰盛了。这赏赐和那一人犯罪的后果也是不同的；因为审判是由一人而来，以致定罪，恩赏却由许多过犯而来，以致称义。如果因着那一人的过犯，死就因那一人而掌权，那些蒙丰富的恩典并且得公义为赏赐的，就更要因这一位耶稣基督在生命中掌权了。

耶和华神说：“那人和我们中间的一个相似，能知善恶；现在恐怕他伸出手来，摘取生命树上的果子吃，就永远活着。”耶和华神就把他赶出伊甸园，去耕种他自己也是从那里出来的地土。于是把亚当驱逐出去，又派基路伯在伊甸园的东边，拿着旋转发火焰的剑，把守到生命树去的路。
