當時吾人尚為天主之悖逆、且得緣其聖子之死、而與天主重相契合、今既重相契合、不更能緣其永生、而承無疆之休乎？

因为我们作仇敌的时候，且藉着神儿子的死，得与神和好；既已和好，就更要因他的生得救了。

这样，我们做神敌人的时候，尚且能藉着神儿子的死与神和好，何况和好以后，难道不更要藉着神儿子的生命得救吗？

這樣，我們做神敵人的時候，尚且能藉著神兒子的死與神和好，何況和好以後，難道不更要藉著神兒子的生命得救嗎？

蓋我儕尚為敵時、由其子之死、得復和於上帝、既已復和、更必於其生得救矣、

我逆主時、賴其子之死、得親於上帝、況以其生得救乎、

我儕為敵之時、賴其子之死、得與天主復和、今已復和、不更因其生而得救乎、

For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

Once we were God’s enemies. But we have been brought back to him because his Son has died for us. Now that God has brought us back, we are even more secure. We know that we will be saved because Christ lives.

凡此皆天主之所賜也。天主既藉基督賜吾人復得承歡、又賜吾儕參贊重歡之事。申言之天主實寓基督內、慨然賜世人與之言歸於好、而不復計其舊惡、更簡吾儕專司重歡之道；

恆體耶穌之死、亦欲體耶穌之生也。蓋吾人雖有生、實無時不為耶穌而死、庶幾吾人血肉之軀、亦得載耶穌之生、而顯揚之耳。

天主以其聖子為我眾捨生、猶且不惜、尚何吝以一切萬有并賜於我耶？

更以此融成一體之二族、與天主協和於十字架上。十字架者、所以消滅一切敵對之意也。

而天地萬物、皆藉基督咸得與天主重相契合、而歸於太和；而其所以致此太和者、則十字架上所流之寶血耳。爾等前因惡業向與天主睽隔；

永生不變；死於一時、而生於永古；掌握死亡及地獄之管籥者。

因是凡賴彼而歸天主者、彼常能為其轉求、而拯救之也。

予賜以永生、終無淪亡之虞、亦無能奪自予手。吾父所授於予者、有貴於宇宙萬有者焉。吾父手中所有、孰得從而奪之；

蓋爾已死；爾之生命、與基督同匿於天主懷中。基督乃吾人之真生命、一俟基督之顯、爾將與之同顯於光榮之中。

無他、蓋順於欲者、則逆於天主；如此自不甘服天主之法、且亦不能。

耶穌曰：『予即復活！予即生命！凡置信於予者、雖死必生；生而置信於予者、永不死。汝信之否？』

食吾體而飲吾血者、存乎我而我亦存乎其中也。

瞬息之間、世將不復見予、爾獨見予。蓋予永生、爾亦因以有生焉。

因此、彼不得不與眾兄弟儘量同化、俾在天主臺前、得充一忠心耿耿、富於同情之大司祭且為萬民之罪、而自獻為消怒之犧牲。

蓋我父之意、欲使凡見子而信之者、咸獲永生；而令予復活之於末日也。』

以福音而論、若輩固因爾之故、而為天主之悖逆矣；若就簡選論之、則若輩托祖宗餘蔭依然為天主之所親也。

不寧惟是、吾人既托吾主耶穌基督之恩、重得與天主相親、則胥宜怡然自樂、而優游於天主聖懷之中。

耶穌基督已死而復活、且恆侍於天主之側、而為吾人代求矣。

蓋父自具生命、賜子亦自具生命。

夫以毫無罪孽之基督、天主竟使其為吾人之故、成為罪孽、亦欲令吾人因基督之功、而成天主之正義云耳。
