What do we find in Scripture? It says,“ Abraham believed God. God accepted Abraham’s faith, and so his faith made him right with God.”( Genesis 15:6)

Abram believed the LORD, and the LORD considered his response of faith as proof of genuine loyalty.

And the scripture was fulfilled that says,“ Now Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend.

Is this blessedness then for the circumcision or also for the uncircumcision? For we say,“ faith was credited to Abraham as righteousness.”

Just as Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,so then, understand that those who believe are the sons of Abraham.And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, proclaimed the gospel to Abraham ahead of time, saying,“ All the nations will be blessed in you.”

But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous, his faith is credited as righteousness.

And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised, so that he would become the father of all those who believe but have never been circumcised, that they too could have righteousness credited to them.

This brought him a reward, an eternal gift.

God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew! Do you not know what the scripture says about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?

So indeed it was credited to Abraham as righteousness.But the statement it was credited to him was not written only for Abraham’s sake,but also for our sake, to whom it will be credited, those who believe in the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.He was given over because of our transgressions and was raised for the sake of our justification.

For the scripture says,“ Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”

For the scripture says to Pharaoh:“ For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may demonstrate my power in you, and that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.”

Then you must recall the LORD’s instructions and the prophetic testimony of what would happen. Certainly they say such things because their minds are spiritually darkened.

Or do you think the scripture means nothing when it says,“ The spirit that God caused to live within us has an envious yearning”?

Have you not read this scripture:‘ The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.

Above all, you do well if you recognize this: No prophecy of scripture ever comes about by the prophet’s own imagination,for no prophecy was ever borne of human impulse; rather, men carried along by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
