For what does the Scripture say?“ Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

經何云、亞伯拉罕信天主、天主即視此為亞伯拉罕之義、

經不云乎：『亞伯漢篤信天主、因是而稱義焉。』

What does Scripture say?“ Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

What do we find in Scripture? It says,“ Abraham believed God. God accepted Abraham’s faith, and so his faith made him right with God.”( Genesis 15:6)

For what does the Scripture say?“ Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.”

For the Scriptures tell us,“ Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.”

Then he believed in the Lord; and He credited it to him as righteousness.

and the Scripture was fulfilled which says,“ And Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called a friend of God.

Is this blessing then on the circumcised, or on the uncircumcised also? For we say,“ Faith was credited to Abraham as righteousness.”

Just as Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.Therefore, recognize that it is those who are of faith who are sons of Abraham.The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying,“ All the nations will be blessed in you.”

But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,

and he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while uncircumcised, so that he might be the father of all who believe without being circumcised, that righteousness might be credited to them,

And it was credited to him as righteousness, To all generations forever.

God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?

Therefore it was also credited to him as righteousness.Now not for his sake only was it written that it was credited to him,but for our sake also, to whom it will be credited, to us who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,He who was delivered over because of our wrongdoings, and was raised because of our justification.

For the Scripture says,“ Whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.”

For the Scripture says to Pharaoh,“ For this very reason I raised you up, in order to demonstrate My power in you, and that My name might be proclaimed throughout the earth.”

To the Law and to the testimony! If they do not speak in accordance with this word, it is because they have no dawn.

Or do you think that the Scripture says to no purpose,“ He jealously desires the Spirit whom He has made to dwell in us”?

Have you not even read this Scripture:‘ A stone which the builders rejected, This has become the chief cornerstone;

But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture becomes a matter of someone’s own interpretation,for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
