He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

絕不疑上帝所應許、稍懷不信心、惟信彌篤、歸榮上帝、

不懷不信之心、疑天主所許者、其信益堅、歸榮天主、

一心惟主之恩諾是恃、毫無狐疑之意、

Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,

But Abraham kept believing in God’s promise. He became strong in his faith. He gave glory to God.

No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God,

Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God.

He did not waver in unbelief at God’s promise but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,

yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God,

And it shall come to pass,[ that] as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not,[ but] let your hands be strong.

Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.I am not able to bear all this people alone, because[ it is] too heavy for me.And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which[ is] upon thee, and will put[ it] upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear[ it] not thyself alone.And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for[ it was] well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days;[ But] even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the LORD which[ is] among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?And Moses said, The people, among whom I[ am],[ are] six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them?And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD’S hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.

And blessed[ is] she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace[ be] unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.

Now when I had delivered the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed unto the LORD, saying,Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm,[ and] there is nothing too hard for thee:Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts,[ is] his name,Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes[ are] open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:Which hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt,[ even] unto this day, and in Israel, and among[ other] men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day;And hast brought forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with great terror;And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them:Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest[ it].And thou hast said unto me, O Lord GOD, Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,Behold, I[ am] the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

And the head of Ephraim[ is] Samaria, and the head of Samaria[ is] Remaliah’s son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.

Say to them[ that are] of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come[ with] vengeance,[ even] God[ with] a recompence; he will come and save you.

And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold,[ if] the LORD should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.

Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which[ were] in the day[ that] the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.

And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle[ is] not yours, but God’s.Tomorrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.Ye shall not[ need] to fight in this[ battle]: set yourselves, stand ye[ still], and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the LORD[ will be] with you.And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with[ his] face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high.And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold,[ if] the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see[ it] with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.

Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I[ am] with you, saith the LORD of hosts:

But when the multitudes saw[ it], they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do[ exploits].
