他也做了受割禮之人的父。這些人不只是受了割禮，還跟隨我們先祖亞伯拉罕的腳步，效法他在未受割禮時的信心。

又作受割礼之人的父，就是那些不但受割礼，并且按我们的祖宗亚伯拉罕未受割礼而信之踪迹去行的人。

也使他作受割礼之人的父，就是那些不但受割礼，而且跟随我们的祖宗亚伯拉罕未受割礼而信的足迹的人。

也使他作受割礼之人的父，就是那些不但受割礼，而且跟随我们的祖宗亚伯拉罕未受割礼而信的足迹的人。

而且他也成为受割礼之人的父，不仅为那些受了割礼的人，还为那些顺着我们的先祖亚伯拉罕信心之脚踪行走的人；亚伯拉罕的信心在他没有受割礼的时候就已经有了。

又作受割禮之人的父，就是那些不但受割禮，並且按我們的祖宗亞伯拉罕未受割禮而信之蹤跡去行的人。

也使他作受割禮之人的父，就是那些不但受割禮，而且跟隨我們的祖宗亞伯拉罕未受割禮而信的足跡的人。

也做受割禮的人的父，做那些不但受割禮、並且照我們祖宗亞伯拉罕沒受割禮時的信心之腳蹤而按規矩行的人的父。

而且他也成為受割禮之人的父，不僅為那些受了割禮的人，還為那些順著我們的先祖亞伯拉罕信心之腳蹤行走的人；亞伯拉罕的信心在他沒有受割禮的時候就已經有了。

亦為受割者之父、即不第自乎割、亦踐我父亞伯拉罕未割時而信之迹者也、

亦為受割者之父、彼不徒遵割禮、乃行其父亞伯拉罕未受割時而信之跡也、

亦為受割禮者之父、即不獨受割禮、且循吾祖亞伯拉罕未受割禮時、所有之信之跡而行者、

亦為既受割而能踵效其未割時所具之信德者之父也。

And he is then also the father of the circumcised who not only are circumcised but who also follow in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.

And Abraham is also the father of those who are circumcised and believe. So just being circumcised is not enough. Those who are circumcised must also follow the steps of our father Abraham. He had faith before he was circumcised.

and to make him the father of the circumcised who are not merely circumcised but who also walk in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.

And Abraham is also the spiritual father of those who have been circumcised, but only if they have the same kind of faith Abraham had before he was circumcised.

And he became the father of the circumcised, who are not only circumcised but who also follow in the footsteps of the faith our father Abraham had while he was still uncircumcised.

and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also follow in the steps of the faith of our father Abraham which he had while uncircumcised.

律法書上說：亞伯拉罕有兩個兒子，一個是婢女生的，一個是主母生的。婢女的兒子是按著人的意願生的，主母的兒子是按著上帝的應許生的。這些事都有更深的含義，兩個婦人是指兩個約。夏甲代表頒佈於西奈山的約，她所生的孩子是奴僕。這夏甲指的是阿拉伯的西奈山，相當於現今的耶路撒冷，她和她的兒女都是奴僕。那天上的耶路撒冷則是自由的，是我們的母親。因為聖經上說：「不生育、未生養的婦人啊，要快樂；未曾生產的女子啊，要高聲歡呼，因為沒有丈夫的比有丈夫的兒女更多。」弟兄姊妹，你們都像以撒一樣是照著上帝的應許出生的。當時，那按著人的意願生的兒子迫害那靠著聖靈生的兒子，現在的情況也和當時一樣。但聖經上怎麼說呢？聖經上說：「趕走婢女和她的兒子，因為婢女的兒子不能與主母的兒子一同承受產業。」弟兄姊妹，這樣看來，我們不是婢女的兒女，而是主母的兒女。

你們蒙召也是為此，因為基督也為你們受過苦，給你們留下榜樣，叫你們可以追隨祂的腳步。

不要心裡說，『我們是亞伯拉罕的子孫。』我告訴你們，上帝可以從這些石頭中興起亞伯拉罕的子孫。

他在陰間受折磨，抬頭遠遠地看見亞伯拉罕和他身邊的拉撒路，就喊著說，『我的先祖亞伯拉罕啊！求你可憐我，派拉撒路用指尖蘸點水來潤潤我的舌頭吧！我在這火中實在痛苦不堪。』「亞伯拉罕說，『孩子啊！你要想想，你生前享福，而拉撒路受苦；如今他在這裡得到安慰，而你受折磨。況且，在你我中間隔著一道深淵，這邊的人不能到你那邊去，你那邊的人也不能到這裡來。』「財主說，『我的先祖啊，那麼求你派拉撒路去我父親家裡，因為我有五個弟兄。讓拉撒路去警告他們，以免他們也來到這痛苦的地方。』「但是亞伯拉罕卻說，『他們可以聽從摩西和眾先知的話呀！』「財主回答說，『我的先祖亞伯拉罕啊！他們不會聽的。但如果有一個死而復活的人去警告他們，他們肯定會悔改！』「亞伯拉罕說，『如果他們不聽從摩西和眾先知的話，即使一個人從死裡復活，他們也不會信服。』」

我懇求提多去你們那裡，並派弟兄與他同去。難道提多佔過你們的便宜嗎？我們行事為人豈不是心靈相通，步調一致嗎？

他們說：「我們的父就是亞伯拉罕！」耶穌說：「你們如果真是亞伯拉罕的子孫，一定會做他所做的事。我把從上帝那裡聽到的真理告訴你們，你們反要殺我，亞伯拉罕絕不做這樣的事。

絕色佳人啊！要是你不知道，就跟著羊群的足跡，到牧人的帳篷邊餵養你的山羊羔吧。

祂給我戴上腳鐐，鑒察我的一舉一動。』

當然，這並不表示上帝的話落了空，因為從以色列生的，不一定都是以色列人，亞伯拉罕的後裔不一定都是亞伯拉罕的兒女，聖經上說：「以撒生的才可算為你的後裔。」

所以你要行善人的路，守義人的道。
