What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh?

如此说来，我们的祖宗亚伯拉罕凭着肉体得了什么呢？

这样，那按肉体作我们祖宗的亚伯拉罕，我们要怎么说呢？

如此說來，我們的祖宗亞伯拉罕憑着肉體得了甚麼呢？

那麼，從我們的先祖亞伯拉罕身上，我們學到什麼呢？

那麼，我們說我們肉體上的先祖亞伯拉罕得到了什麼呢？

如是、試問我祖亞伯拉罕依其形軀所得者、何耶、

曰、何以稱之、吾祖亞伯拉罕徒事儀文、有所得乎、

然則我祖亞伯拉罕、我儕可謂其以本身所行者以本身所行者原文作循肉體何所得乎、

即就吾祖亞伯漢而論、若祇憑其本身之智力、亦何所得乎？

What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, discovered in this matter?

What should we say about these things? What did Abraham, the father of our people, discover about being right with God?

What then shall we say was gained by Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh?

Abraham was, humanly speaking, the founder of our Jewish nation. What did he discover about being made right with God?

What then will we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, has found?

What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, has found?

What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather, hath found according to the flesh?

What then can we say that Abraham, our physical ancestor, has found?

What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?

What then shall we say that Abraham, our ancestor according to the flesh, has discovered regarding this matter?

What then will we say that Abraham, our forefather, has found according to the flesh?

Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all

Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who bore you; For I called him alone, And blessed him and increased him.”

Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? So am I.

They answered Him,“ We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can you say,‘ You will be made free’?”

“ Then he cried and said,‘ Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’But Abraham said,‘ Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.

“ Men and brethren, sons of the family of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, to you the word of this salvation has been sent.

Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said,“ You shall not covet.”

“ I know that you are Abraham’s descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you.I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.”They answered and said to Him,“ Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them,“ If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.You do the deeds of your father.” Then they said to Him,“ We were not born of fornication; we have one Father— God.”

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Abraham said to him,‘ They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’And he said,‘ No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’But he said to him,‘ If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’”

Are You greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets are dead. Who do You make Yourself out to be?”

and do not think to say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?
