因為萬人都犯了罪，都虧缺了上帝的榮耀，

要知道，每個人都犯了罪，虧缺了神的榮耀；

蓋眾已獲罪、而歉上帝之榮、

蓋眾已獲罪、有歉上帝所賜之榮、

蓋眾已獲罪、不得不得或作缺於天主之榮、

舉世莫非罪人、固未有能懷天主之明德者也。

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Everyone has sinned. No one measures up to God’s glory.

Indeed, there is not a righteous person on earth who always does good and does not ever sin.

What then? Are we better than they? Not at all; for we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks are all under sin;

But the Scripture has confined everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

For God has shut up all in disobedience, so that He may show mercy to all.

Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God;

so that you would walk in a manner worthy of the God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.

It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a depraved mind, to do those things that are not proper,people having been filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, and evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice; they are gossips,slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,without understanding, untrustworthy, unfeeling, and unmerciful;and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.Therefore you have no excuse, you foolish person, everyone of you who passes judgment; for in that matter in which you judge someone else, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.And we know that the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who practice such things.But do you suppose this, you foolish person who passes judgment on those who practice such things, and yet does them as well, that you will escape the judgment of God?Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and restraint and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,who will repay each person according to his deeds:to those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life;but to those who are self serving and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, He will give wrath and indignation.There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of mankind who does evil, for the Jew first and also for the Greek,but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who does what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.For there is no partiality with God.For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law;for it is not the hearers of the Law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the Law who will be justified.For when Gentiles who do not have the Law instinctively perform the requirements of the Law, these, though not having the Law, are a law to themselves,in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience testifying and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them,on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of mankind through Christ Jesus.

Therefore, I urge elders among you, as your fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and one who is also a fellow partaker of the glory that is to be revealed:

but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that at the revelation of His glory you may also rejoice and be overjoyed.

through whom we also have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we celebrate in hope of the glory of God.

Therefore, we must fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it.
