A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical.

A person is not a Jew if they are a Jew only on the outside. And circumcision is more than just something done to the outside of a man’s body.

For no one is a Jew who is merely one outwardly, nor is circumcision outward and physical.

For you are not a true Jew just because you were born of Jewish parents or because you have gone through the ceremony of circumcision.

If the Lord of armies Had not left us a few survivors, We would be like Sodom, We would be like Gomorrah.Hear the word of the Lord, You rulers of Sodom; Listen to the instruction of our God, You people of Gomorrah!“ What are your many sacrifices to Me?” Says the Lord.“ I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams And the fat of fattened cattle; And I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls, lambs, or goats.When you come to appear before Me, Who requires of you this trampling of My courtyards?Do not go on bringing your worthless offerings, Incense is an abomination to Me. New moon and Sabbath, the proclamation of an assembly— I cannot endure wrongdoing and the festive assembly.I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts, They have become a burden to Me; I am tired of bearing them.So when you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; Yes, even though you offer many prayers, I will not be listening. Your hands are covered with blood.

How then was it credited? While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised;and he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while uncircumcised, so that he might be the father of all who believe without being circumcised, that righteousness might be credited to them,and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also follow in the steps of the faith of our father Abraham which he had while uncircumcised.

I know that you are Abraham’s descendants; yet you are seeking to kill Me, because My word has no place in you.I speak of the things which I have seen with My Father; therefore you also do the things which you heard from your father.”They answered and said to Him,“ Abraham is our father.” Jesus* said to them,“ If you are Abraham’s children, do the deeds of Abraham.

Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you— not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience— through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Egypt, Judah, Edom, the sons of Ammon, Moab, and all those inhabiting the desert who trim the hair on their temples; for all the nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised of heart.”

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and* said of him,“ Here is truly an Israelite, in whom there is no deceit!”

God certainly is good to Israel, To those who are pure in heart!

Then she conceived again and gave birth to a daughter. And the Lord said to him,“ Name her Lo ruhamah, for I will no longer take pity on the house of Israel, that I would ever forgive them.But I will take pity on the house of Judah and save them by the Lord their God, and will not save them by bow, sword, battle, horses, or horsemen.”When she had weaned Lo ruhamah, she conceived and gave birth to a son.And the Lord said,“ Name him Lo ammi, because you are not My people, and I am not your God.”
