You who say,“ Do not commit adultery,” do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?

你说人不可奸淫，自己还奸淫吗？你厌恶偶像，自己还偷窃庙中之物吗？

你这说不可奸淫的，自己还奸淫吗？你这厌恶偶像的，自己还抢劫庙中之物吗？

你这说不可奸淫的，自己还奸淫吗？你这厌恶偶像的，自己还抢劫庙中之物吗？

你告诉他人不可通奸，自己却通奸吗？你憎恶偶像，自己却去偷庙里的东西吗？

你说不可奸淫，自己却奸淫吗？你憎恶偶像，自己却劫掠庙宇吗？

你这说不可通奸的，难道自己还通奸吗？你这憎恶偶像的，难道自己还偷取庙里的东西吗？

你說人不可姦淫，自己還姦淫嗎？你厭惡偶像，自己還偷竊廟中之物嗎？

你這說不可姦淫的，自己還姦淫嗎？你這厭惡偶像的，自己還搶劫廟中之物嗎？

爾言勿淫、而自淫乎、爾惡偶像、而自刧殿乎、

爾言勿淫、而自淫乎、爾惡偶像、而自干聖乎、

爾言勿姦、而自姦乎、爾惡偶像、而竊廟中物乎、

禁人奸淫者、豈可自犯奸淫？厭惡偶像者、豈可褻瀆聖殿？

You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?

You say that people should not commit adultery. But you commit adultery! You hate statues of gods. But you rob temples!

You who say that one must not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?

You say it is wrong to commit adultery, but do you commit adultery? You condemn idolatry, but do you use items stolen from pagan temples?

You who say,“ You must not commit adultery”— do you commit adultery? You who detest idols, do you rob temples?

You who say that one is not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who loathe idols, do you rob temples?

thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou rob temples?

You who say,“ You must not commit adultery”— do you commit adultery? You who detest idols, do you rob their temples?

You who tell others not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?

You who say a man shouldn’t commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?

“ Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say,‘ In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings.

For you have brought these men here who are neither robbers of temples nor blasphemers of your goddess.

And when you offer the blind as a sacrifice, Is it not evil? And when you offer the lame and sick, Is it not evil? Offer it then to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you favorably?” Says the Lord of hosts.

Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you do not know,and then come and stand before Me in this house which is called by My name, and say,‘ We are delivered to do all these abominations’?

One commits abomination with his neighbor’s wife; another lewdly defiles his daughter-in-law; and another in you violates his sister, his father’s daughter.

Then He taught, saying to them,“ Is it not written,‘ My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it a‘ den of thieves.’”

Oh, that I had in the wilderness A lodging place for travelers; That I might leave my people, And go from them! For they are all adulterers, An assembly of treacherous men.

“ How shall I pardon you for this? Your children have forsaken Me And sworn by those that are not gods. When I had fed them to the full, Then they committed adultery And assembled themselves by troops in the harlots’ houses.

Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And He left them and departed.

But He answered and said to them,“ An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

“ But cursed be the deceiver Who has in his flock a male, And takes a vow, But sacrifices to the Lord what is blemished— For I am a great King,” Says the Lord of hosts,“ And My name is to be feared among the nations.
