All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.

Some people do not know God’s law when they sin. They will not be judged by the law when they die. Others do know God’s law when they sin. They will be judged by the law.

For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.

When the Gentiles sin, they will be destroyed, even though they never had God’s written law. And the Jews, who do have God’s law, will be judged by that law when they fail to obey it.

若夫徒恃法者、服咒詛也、經云、不恆遵律法所載而行之者、服咒詛也、

蓋異邦人無法、而自然遵法、是雖無法而自為法、法銘於心、以行彰之、內自為證、而其思慮、時寓褒貶、迨上帝以耶穌基督鞫人隱微之日、如我福音所言也、

然則何以言之、律法豈惡之因乎、曰、不然、非法無以見惡、蓋律法不禁欲、吾末由識欲、惡以誡而乘機、眾欲動於中、未有法、則惡不生、故昔未有法而我生、誡至、惡生而我死、誡本生我、反以死我、蓋惡以誡乘機誘我、因而死我、

且上帝之怒、由天而顯、以警不虔不義、行惡阻真理之人、蓋上帝之功用、人所可知者、顯於眾、是上帝示之也、自開闢以來、上帝之永能性體、目不及見、惟其所造之物、可睹而知、故人未由推諉、顧彼既知上帝、猶不以上帝尊之謝之、乃志意虛妄、心頑蒙昧、

吾語汝、當審判日、推羅西頓之刑、較爾尤易受也、

僕知主意、而不設備、不順其意者、見扑必多、不知而作當刑之事者、見扑必少、凡多與之、必多取之、多托之、必多索之、○

昔摩西面暫榮、以色列人不能注目視彼、夫以舊典致死之法鐫諸石、其榮且如此、況本神之法、其榮不更甚哉、若定罪之法榮、則稱義之法益榮、

我見死人、自尊逮卑、立於位前、典籍與生命之書、盡展、死人被鞫、視其行為、依書所錄、溺於海者、海必出之、幽於陰府死所者、陰府死所必出之、使各被鞫、視其所行、陰府死所、亦見投於火坑、沒後沉淪者、此也、凡不錄於生命册者、亦見投於火坑、

有法、此有刑、無法、則無犯法、

又曰、不恆遵律法所載而行之者、當服咒詛、民必群應曰、固心所願。

耶穌曰、非自上賜、爾則無權治我、故賣我者罪益大、

吾儕知律法所言、指法下人言之、以塞諸口、使舉世服罪於上帝前、蓋恃法而行者、無人得稱義於上帝前、法第使人知罪耳、

往者冒昧以行、上帝不咎、今乃隨在、命眾悔改、定一日、欲以所立之人、義判天下、而復生之、俾眾徵信焉、○

蓋律法以我情欲、故無力脫我於惡、惟上帝遣己子、身等罪人、以贖人罪、滅吾身之罪、

但經明言萬人有罪、惟信耶穌基督、可得所許之福、

守全法而犯一誡者、無異犯眾誡、
