因为那吃喝的人，如果不分辨主的身体，就是吃喝对自己的惩罚了。为此，你们中间有很多人是软弱的、患病的，甚至有许多人睡着了。但如果我们省察自己，就不会受惩罚；

对洁净的人，一切都是洁净的；对污秽和不信的人，没有一样是洁净的，就是他们的理性和良心也都被污秽了。

然而，不是所有的人都有这知识。有些人因习惯了偶像，至今还以为所吃的是祭过偶像的食物。他们的良心因为软弱，就被玷污了。

没有信，就不可能蒙神喜悦，因为来到神面前的人，必须相信神存在，并且相信他报偿那些寻求他的人。

虽然有的人判定这一天比那一天重要，但有的人却判定每一天都一样。每个人当在自己理性上确信不疑。

所以，抗拒掌权的，就是违抗神所设立的；违抗的人，就自招惩罚。
