對潔淨的人，一切都是潔淨的；對汙穢和不信的人，沒有一樣是潔淨的，就是他們的理性和良心也都被汙穢了。

雖然有的人相信什麼都可以吃，但那軟弱的人卻只吃蔬菜。

不要因食物的緣故破壞神的工作。一切固然都是潔淨的，但如果有人因吃東西使人絆腳，這就是惡事了。

彼得卻說：「主啊，千萬不可！因為我從來沒有吃過任何俗物和不潔淨的東西。」那聲音第二次又對他說：「神所潔淨的，你不可當做汙穢的。」

但那疑惑的人如果吃了，就被定罪了，因為不是本於信；而一切不是本於信的，就是罪。

因為，如果有人看見你這有知識的人在偶像的廟裡坐席，難道不就鼓勵了他軟弱的良心，使他也去吃那祭過偶像的食物嗎？

原來神所造的一切都是美好的；如果以感謝的心領受，就什麼也不用丟棄，

就對他們說：「你們知道，猶太人和外族人交往或親近是律法所禁止的。但是神指示我，不要把任何人當做俗的或不潔淨的。

我說：『主啊，千萬不可！因為俗物或不潔淨的東西，從來沒有入過我的口。』那聲音第二次從天上傳來，說：『神所潔淨的，你不可當做汙穢的。』

肉市上所賣的一切，你們都可以吃；不要為了良心的緣故而問什麼，
