在清潔的人，一切都是清潔的；但在污穢和不信的人，沒有一樣是清潔的，連他們的意念和良心都污穢了。

有人相信所有的食物都可以吃，信心軟弱的人卻只吃蔬菜。

不可因食物的緣故拆毀神的工作。一切都是潔淨的，但人若因食物絆倒弟兄，對他來說，這就是惡事了。

彼得說：“主啊，千萬不可！我從來不吃俗物和不潔的東西。”第二次又有聲音對他說：“神所潔淨的，你不可當作俗物。”

但如果有人存著疑惑的心去吃，他就被定罪了，因為他不是出於信心。凡不是出於信心的，都是罪。

因為如果有人看見你這有知識的人，在偶像的廟裡吃喝，他的良心若是軟弱，他不就放膽去吃那祭過偶像的食物嗎？

因為凡神所造的，都是好的，只要存感謝的心領受，沒有一樣是可以棄絕的；

就對他們說：“你們知道，猶太人本來是不准和外國人接近來往的，但神已經指示了我，不可把任何人當作凡俗或不潔的。

我說：‘主啊，千萬不可，因為俗物或不潔的東西，從來沒有進過我的口。’第二次又有聲音從天上回答：‘神所潔淨的，你不可當作俗物。’

肉食市場所賣的一切，你們只管吃，不要為了良心的緣故問甚麼，
