因為全部的律法，都在“愛人如己”這一句話裡面成全了。

你們要向各人清還所欠的；應當納稅的，就要給他納稅；應當進貢的，就給他進貢；應當敬畏的，就敬畏他；應當尊敬的，就尊敬他。

如果你的手有行善的力量，就不可推辭，要向那些需要幫助的人行善。你那裡如果有現成的，就不可對鄰舍說：“你先回去，明天再來吧，到時，我必給你！”

你們若照著聖經所說“要愛人如己”這話，去完成這至尊的律法，你們就作對了。

我給你們一條新命令，就是要你們彼此相愛；我怎樣愛你們，你們也要怎樣彼此相愛。

在這一切之上，還要有愛心，愛心是聯繫全德的。

這囑咐的目的是出於愛；這愛是發自純潔的心、無愧的良心和無偽的信心。

“困苦貧窮的雇工，無論是你的兄弟，或是寄居在你的地上你的城裡的，你都不可欺壓他。你要當日給他工錢，不可等到日落，因為他貧窮，把心放在工錢上，免得他對你不滿而呼求耶和華，你就有罪了。
