The night has advanced toward dawn; the day is near. So then we must lay aside the works of darkness, and put on the weapons of light.

The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

The dark night of evil is nearly over. The day of Christ’s return is almost here. So let us get rid of the works of darkness that harm us. Let us do the works of light that protect us.

The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.

Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also forgive others.And to all these virtues add love, which is the perfect bond.Let the peace of Christ be in control in your heart( for you were in fact called as one body to this peace), and be thankful.Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and exhorting one another with all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, all with grace in your hearts to God.And whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

So put away all filth and evil excess and humbly welcome the message implanted within you, which is able to save your souls.

Until the dawn arrives and the shadows flee, turn, my beloved– be like a gazelle or a young stag on the mountain gorges.

You were taught with reference to your former way of life to lay aside the old man who is being corrupted in accordance with deceitful desires,

For you all are sons of the light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of the darkness.So then we must not sleep as the rest, but must stay alert and sober.For those who sleep, sleep at night and those who get drunk are drunk at night.But since we are of the day, we must stay sober by putting on the breastplate of faith and love and as a helmet our hope for salvation.

Clothe yourselves with the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.For this reason, take up the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand your ground on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand.Stand firm therefore, by fastening the belt of truth around your waist, by putting on the breastplate of righteousness,by fitting your feet with the preparation that comes from the good news of peace,and in all of this, by taking up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.With every prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit, and to this end be alert, with all perseverance and requests for all the saints.

Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to arouse its desires.

Now this is the basis for judging: that the light has come into the world and people loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.For everyone who does evil deeds hates the light and does not come to the light, so that their deeds will not be exposed.But the one who practices the truth comes to the light, so that it may be plainly evident that his deeds have been done in God.

Then he said to me,“ Do not seal up the words of the prophecy contained in this book, because the time is near.

Before daybreak the murderer rises up; he kills the poor and the needy; in the night he is like a thief.And the eye of the adulterer watches for the twilight, thinking,‘ No eye can see me,’ and covers his face with a mask.In the dark the robber breaks into houses, but by day they shut themselves in; they do not know the light.For all of them, the morning is to them like deep darkness; they are friends with the terrors of darkness.

At that time men will throw their silver and gold idols, which they made for themselves to worship, into the caves where rodents and bats live,

Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy aloud, and blessed are those who hear and obey the things written in it, because the time is near!

So get rid of all evil and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.
