The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

The dark night of evil is nearly over. The day of Christ’s return is almost here. So let us get rid of the works of darkness that harm us. Let us do the works of light that protect us.

The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.

Therefore, ridding yourselves of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, humbly receive the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

For you are all children of light and children of the day. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to gratify its desires.

This is the judgment: The light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil.For everyone who does evil hates the light and avoids it, so that his deeds may not be exposed.But anyone who lives by the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be shown to be accomplished by God.”

Then he said to me,“ Don’t seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, because the time is near.

The murderer rises at dawn to kill the poor and needy, and by night he becomes a thief.The adulterer’s eye watches for twilight, thinking,“ No eye will see me,” and he covers his face.In the dark they break into houses; by day they lock themselves in, never experiencing the light.For the morning is like darkness to them. Surely they are familiar with the terrors of darkness!

On that day people will throw their worthless idols of silver and gold, which they made to worship, to the moles and the bats.

Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear the words of this prophecy and keep what is written in it, because the time is near.

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all slander.
