Instead,“ If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.”

不但如此，「如果你的敵人餓了，就給他吃；如果他渴了，就給他喝；因為你這樣做，就是把炭火堆在他的頭上。」

敵飢則食之、渴則飲之、如是而行、猶以爇炭集厥首、

敵饑則飼之、渴則飲之、猶以爇炭集厥首、

爾敵饑則飼之、渴則飲之、爾如是行、猶以熱炭置於其首、

故曰：『敵人飢則食之、渴則飲之、是不啻以烈火加厥頂。』

On the contrary:“ If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Do just the opposite. Scripture says,“ If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. By doing those things, you will pile up burning coals on their heads.”( Proverbs 25:21, 22)

To the contrary,“ if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”

But If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head.

Therefore“ If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”

But if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him to drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head.

If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them water to drink.You will heap burning coals of shame on their heads, and the Lord will reward you.

But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!

“ But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you.

“ If you come upon your enemy’s ox or donkey that has strayed away, take it back to its owner.If you see that the donkey of someone who hates you has collapsed under its load, do not walk by. Instead, stop and help.

“ Of course not!” Elisha replied.“ Do we kill prisoners of war? Give them food and drink and send them home again to their master.”

Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm. For love is as strong as death, its jealousy as enduring as the grave. Love flashes like fire, the brightest kind of flame.Many waters cannot quench love, nor can rivers drown it. If a man tried to buy love with all his wealth, his offer would be utterly scorned.

When David had finished speaking, Saul called back,“ Is that really you, my son David?” Then he began to cry.And he said to David,“ You are a better man than I am, for you have repaid me good for evil.Yes, you have been amazingly kind to me today, for when the Lord put me in a place where you could have killed me, you didn’t do it.Who else would let his enemy get away when he had him in his power? May the Lord reward you well for the kindness you have shown me today.

Then Saul confessed,“ I have sinned. Come back home, my son, and I will no longer try to harm you, for you valued my life today. I have been a fool and very, very wrong.”

Let burning coals fall down on their heads. Let them be thrown into the fire or into watery pits from which they can’t escape.

You will be pierced with sharp arrows and burned with glowing coals.
