Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say,“ I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord.

人以橫逆相加、望我兄弟無思自為報復、靜候天討可也。主不云乎、『報復乃吾之事也；賞善罰惡、有吾在焉。』

Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written:“ It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

My dear friends, don’t try to get even. Leave room for God to show his anger. It is written,“ I am the God who judges people. I will pay them back,”( Deuteronomy 32:35) says the Lord.

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written,“ Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”

Friends, do not avenge yourselves; instead, leave room for God’s wrath, because it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.

For we know the one who said,“ I will take revenge. I will pay them back.” He also said,“ The Lord will judge his own people.”

And don’t say,“ Now I can pay them back for what they’ve done to me! I’ll get even with them!”

Don’t say,“ I will get even for this wrong.” Wait for the Lord to handle the matter.

Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable.

“ Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against a fellow Israelite, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.

But I say, do not resist an evil person! If someone slaps you on the right cheek, offer the other cheek also.

Never harm or cheat a fellow believer in this matter by violating his wife, for the Lord avenges all such sins, as we have solemnly warned you before.

“ Rejoice with him, you heavens, and let all of God’s angels worship him. Rejoice with his people, you Gentiles, and let all the angels be strengthened in him. For he will avenge the blood of his children; he will take revenge against his enemies. He will repay those who hate him and cleanse his people’s land.”

Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them.

The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. But if you are doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to punish you. They are God’s servants, sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong.

“ But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you.Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also. If someone demands your coat, offer your shirt also.

Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall; don’t be happy when they stumble.For the Lord will be displeased with you and will turn his anger away from them.Don’t fret because of evildoers; don’t envy the wicked.

Thank God for your good sense! Bless you for keeping me from murder and from carrying out vengeance with my own hands.

The Lord is a jealous God, filled with vengeance and rage. He takes revenge on all who oppose him and continues to rage against his enemies!The Lord is slow to get angry, but his power is great, and he never lets the guilty go unpunished. He displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm. The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet.

O Lord, the God of vengeance, O God of vengeance, let your glorious justice shine forth!Arise, O Judge of the earth. Give the proud what they deserve.How long, O Lord? How long will the wicked be allowed to gloat?

“ Now, my lord, as surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, since the Lord has kept you from murdering and taking vengeance into your own hands, let all your enemies and those who try to harm you be as cursed as Nabal is.

But Jesus turned and rebuked them.So they went on to another village.

“ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: The people of Edom have sinned greatly by avenging themselves against the people of Judah.
