through whom we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of God’s glory.Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,and endurance, character, and character, hope.

But rejoice in the degree that you have shared in the sufferings of Christ, so that when his glory is revealed you may also rejoice and be glad.

So my heart rejoices and I am happy; My life is safe.You will not abandon me to Sheol; you will not allow your faithful follower to see the Pit.You lead me in the path of life; I experience absolute joy in your presence; you always give me sheer delight.

so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and perseverance inherit the promises.

So be patient, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s return. Think of how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the ground and is patient for it until it receives the early and late rains.

And so by persevering, Abraham inherited the promise.

For this finds God’s favor, if because of conscience toward God someone endures hardships in suffering unjustly.For what credit is it if you sin and are mistreated and endure it? But if you do good and suffer and so endure, this finds favor with God.

Always rejoice,constantly pray,

because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance.And let endurance have its perfect effect, so that you will be perfect and complete, not deficient in anything.

Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God.And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, we must get rid of every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and run with endurance the race set out for us,

being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might for the display of all patience and steadfastness, joyfully

All these continued together in prayer with one mind, together with the women, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.

Be devoted to prayer, keeping alert in it with thanksgiving.

Epaphras, who is one of you and a slave of Christ, greets you. He is always struggling in prayer on your behalf, so that you may stand mature and fully assured in all the will of God.

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice!

But remember the former days when you endured a harsh conflict of suffering after you were enlightened.

But since we are of the day, we must stay sober by putting on the breastplate of faith and love and as a helmet our hope for salvation.

But you, as a person dedicated to God, keep away from all that. Instead pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, endurance, and gentleness.

As an example of suffering and patience, brothers and sisters, take the prophets who spoke in the Lord’s name.Think of how we regard as blessed those who have endured. You have heard of Job’s endurance and you have seen the Lord’s purpose, that the Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

When you call out to me and come to me in prayer, I will hear your prayers.When you seek me in prayer and worship, you will find me available to you. If you seek me with all your heart and soul,

If anyone is meant for captivity, into captivity he will go. If anyone is to be killed by the sword, then by the sword he must be killed. This requires steadfast endurance and faith from the saints.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he gave us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,that is, into an inheritance imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. It is reserved in heaven for you,who by God’s power are protected through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.This brings you great joy, although you may have to suffer for a short time in various trials.Such trials show the proven character of your faith, which is much more valuable than gold– gold that is tested by fire, even though it is passing away– and will bring praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.You have not seen him, but you love him. You do not see him now but you believe in him, and so you rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy,

Now may the Lord direct your hearts toward the love of God and the endurance of Christ.

During his earthly life Christ offered both requests and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death and he was heard because of his devotion.

I relied completely on the LORD, and he turned toward me and heard my cry for help.

eternal life to those who by perseverance in good works seek glory and honor and immortality,

The hope of the righteous is joy, but the expectation of the wicked will remain unfulfilled.

For the culmination of all things is near. So be self- controlled and sober- minded for the sake of prayer.

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by grace gave us eternal comfort and good hope,encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good thing you do or say.

As a result we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and afflictions you are enduring.

But Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. We are of his house, if in fact we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope we take pride in.

to knowledge, self- control; to self- control, perseverance; to perseverance, godliness;

And so, since we have been justified by his grace, we become heirs with the confident expectation of eternal life.”

So Jacob was left alone. Then a man wrestled with him until daybreak.When the man saw that he could not defeat Jacob, he struck the socket of his hip so the socket of Jacob’s hip was dislocated while he wrestled with him.Then the man said,“ Let me go, for the dawn is breaking.”“ I will not let you go,” Jacob replied,“ unless you bless me.”

With every prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit, and to this end be alert, with all perseverance and requests for all the saints.Pray for me also, that I may be given the message when I begin to speak– that I may confidently make known the mystery of the gospel,

And this is the confidence that we have before him: that whenever we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.

because we recall in the presence of our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

For everything that was written in former times was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and through encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope.

God wanted to make known to them the glorious riches of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Wait patiently for the LORD! Wait confidently for him! Do not fret over the apparent success of a sinner, a man who carries out wicked schemes!

Then he said to them,“ Suppose one of you has a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say to him,‘ Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,because a friend of mine has stopped here while on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him.’Then he will reply from inside,‘ Do not bother me. The door is already shut, and my children and I are in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything.’I tell you, even though the man inside will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of the first man’s sheer persistence he will get up and give him whatever he needs.“ So I tell you: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.What father among you, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead of a fish?Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?If you then, although you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

as we wait for the happy fulfillment of our hope in the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

By your endurance you will gain your lives.

But as for the seed that landed on good soil, these are the ones who, after hearing the word, cling to it with an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with steadfast endurance.

“ My portion is the Lord,” I have said to myself, so I will put my hope in him.ט( Tet)The LORD is good to those who trust in him, to the one who seeks him.It is good to wait patiently for deliverance from the LORD.

Though you have allowed me to experience much trouble and distress, revive me once again! Bring me up once again from the depths of the earth!Raise me to a position of great honor! Turn and comfort me!I will express my thanks to you with a stringed instrument, praising your faithfulness, O my God! I will sing praises to you accompanied by a harp, O Holy One of Israel!My lips will shout for joy! Yes, I will sing your praises! I will praise you when you rescue me!

Nevertheless, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names stand written in heaven.”

Then Jesus told them a parable to show them they should always pray and not lose heart.He said,“ In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected people.There was also a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying,‘ Give me justice against my adversary.’For a while he refused, but later on he said to himself,‘ Though I neither fear God nor have regard for people,yet because this widow keeps on bothering me, I will give her justice, or in the end she will wear me out by her unending pleas.’”And the Lord said,“ Listen to what the unrighteous judge says!Won’t God give justice to his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he delay long to help them?I tell you, he will give them justice speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”Jesus also told this parable to some who were confident that they were righteous and looked down on everyone else.“ Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.The Pharisee stood and prayed about himself like this:‘ God, I thank you that I am not like other people: extortionists, unrighteous people, adulterers– or even like this tax collector.I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of everything I get.’The tax collector, however, stood far off and would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said,‘ God, be merciful to me, sinner that I am!’I tell you that this man went down to his home justified rather than the Pharisee. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”Now people were even bringing their babies to him for him to touch. But when the disciples saw it, they began to scold those who brought them.But Jesus called for the children, saying,“ Let the little children come to me and do not try to stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.I tell you the truth, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”Now a certain ruler asked him,“ Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”Jesus said to him,“ Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.You know the commandments:‘ Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.’”The man replied,“ I have wholeheartedly obeyed all these laws since my youth.”When Jesus heard this, he said to him,“ One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”But when the man heard this he became very sad, for he was extremely wealthy.When Jesus noticed this, he said,“ How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!In fact, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”Those who heard this said,“ Then who can be saved?”He replied,“ What is impossible for mere humans is possible for God.”And Peter said,“ Look, we have left everything we own to follow you!”Then Jesus said to them,“ I tell you the truth, there is no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of God’s kingdomwho will not receive many times more in this age– and in the age to come, eternal life.”Then Jesus took the twelve aside and said to them,“ Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written about the Son of Man by the prophets will be accomplished.For he will be handed over to the Gentiles; he will be mocked, mistreated, and spat on.They will flog him severely and kill him. Yet on the third day he will rise again.”But the twelve understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they did not grasp what Jesus meant.As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the road begging.When he heard a crowd going by, he asked what was going on.They told him,“ Jesus the Nazarene is passing by.”So he called out,“ Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”And those who were in front scolded him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted even more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”So Jesus stopped and ordered the beggar to be brought to him. When the man came near, Jesus asked him,“ What do you want me to do for you?” He replied,“ Lord, let me see again.”Jesus said to him,“ Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.”And immediately he regained his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they too gave praise to God.

They were devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Rejoice and be glad because your reward is great in heaven, for they persecuted the prophets before you in the same way.

I asked the Lord three times about this, that it would depart from me.

Listen attentively, my God, and hear! Open your eyes and look on our desolated ruins and the city called by your name. For it is not because of our own righteous deeds that we are praying to you, but because your compassion is abundant.O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, pay attention, and act! Don’t delay, for your own sake, O my God! For your city and your people are called by your name.”

You guide me by your wise advice, and then you will lead me to a position of honor.Whom do I have in heaven but you? I desire no one but you on earth.My flesh and my heart may grow weak, but God always protects my heart and gives me stability.

But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with endurance.

And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick and the Lord will raise him up– and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.So confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great effectiveness.

So Peter was kept in prison, but those in the church were earnestly praying to God for him.

The wicked will be thrown down in his trouble, but the righteous have refuge even in the threat of death.

In the same way God wanted to demonstrate more clearly to the heirs of the promise that his purpose was unchangeable, and so he intervened with an oath,so that we who have found refuge in him may find strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us through two unchangeable things, since it is impossible for God to lie.We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and steadfast, which reaches inside behind the curtain,

You, however, have followed my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, my faith, my patience, my love, my endurance,

For what hope does the godless have when he is cut off, when God takes away his life?Does God listen to his cry when distress overtakes him?Will he find delight in the Almighty? Will he call out to God at all times?

As for me, I will call out to God, and the LORD will deliver me.During the evening, morning, and noontime I will lament and moan, and he will hear me.

When the fig tree does not bud, and there are no grapes on the vines; when the olive trees do not produce, and the fields yield no crops; when the sheep disappear from the pen, and there are no cattle in the stalls,I will rejoice because of the LORD; I will be happy because of the God who delivers me!

But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

Finally, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord! To write this again is no trouble to me, and it is a safeguard for you.

They repay my love with accusations, but I continue to pray.
