曰、如是言之、信由傳聞而至、傳聞由上帝道而來、

由是觀之、信由聞而來、聞由天主之道而來、

是故吾人之信德、起於所聞；所聞者何、即基督之福音是已。

This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?

So then, does He who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?

Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of mere men, but as what it really is, the word of God, which also is at work in you who believe.

In the exercise of His will He gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. How then are they to call on Him in whom they have not believed? How are they to believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher?
