顧彼既知上帝、猶不以上帝尊之謝之、乃志意虛妄、心頑蒙昧、

顧彼既知上帝、而不以上帝榮之、亦不謝之、乃思議虛妄、心蠢而昧、

彼雖知天主、不以天主尊之、亦不謝之、乃思念虛妄、心以頑而愈昧、

夫既知有天主矣乃又不以天主事之、而頌詠稱謝焉；復因鑿空蹈虛、流連忘返、以致其冥頑之心、淪於重昏。

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

They knew God. But they didn’t honor him as God. They didn’t thank him. Their thinking became worthless. Their foolish hearts became dark.

Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.

我念主勸爾、勿效異邦人所行、志意虛妄、心思蒙昧、頑囂無知、棄上帝生命之道、

耶和華曰、維昔爾祖、見我所為、有何苛政、故背逆予、崇事虛無、所為放誕、

昔上帝與列祖立約、斯民背之、棄其所命、違其禮儀、崇事虛無、亦為放誕、四周之異邦人、耶和華曾命、勿效其尤、彼不聽從、反崇信焉、

凡頌美予者、彰我之榮、謹飭之士、予必救之兮。

大聲曰、上帝鞫人之日至矣、故當敬畏讚美崇拜造天地河海者、

爾乃成聖之國、得救之民、推選之族、為王而祭司者、既蒙主召爾出幽暗、入靈光、爾當表彰其德、

惟主為聖、敢不寅畏、頌禱其名、義行顯著、萬國咸至、崇拜於前、

余任其桀驁、聽其縱欲兮。

爾蹈祖愆得見贖者、知不以剝蝕之金銀、

人將自私、好利、驕泰、訕謗、逆親、辜恩、斁倫、

蓋上帝之功用、人所可知者、顯於眾、是上帝示之也、

夫光臨世、而人作惡、愛暗過於光、此所以定罪也、

耶和華鑒觀世人、作惡貫盈、心所圖維、恆壞惡念。

耶利米曰耶和華與、爾施大力、以捍衛予、我罹患難、爾拯救予、異邦人自地極將至、告曰、我祖所崇事者、誕妄無益。

惟彼偶像、崇之者愚蠢、鑄之者蒙羞、偶像偽物。內無生氣。悉無靈爽、妄人所作、天災一至、與眾偕亡。

雖至日中、如處幽暗、遍捫不見、與瞽無異、爾凡所為、不獲亨通、恆被人虐取強據、不蒙拯救。

彼不知所得之五穀酒油金銀、皆我所畀、彼反獻於巴力、

爾所締造之萬邦、必伏拜爾前、揄揚爾名兮、

上帝造人、正直是務、惟人所為、機巧百出、我深察其故矣。

馨聞於上、耶和華意謂人雖自孩提、其心常懷惡念、嗣後我必不緣之詛地、復滅生物。

彼既不以上帝存於中、上帝聽其喪心、行所不當行、

厥目矇而勿見、厥背屈而不伸、

作偶像者、悉為虛妄、其所慕者無益、彼明知其不見不聞、當生愧怍。誰鑄無益之偶像、以像上帝哉、豈非人乎、宜其同儔、咸生愧赧、使彼聚會、屹立於此、必令其戰慄不勝、慙恧無地。鐵工作斧、炭以煆之、鎚以治之、竭一臂之力、使之成器、若其不飲不食、氣力俱廢。木工用準繩、循規矩、運其利器、作人之形、窮極華美、置之於室、伐柏香木以及橡櫟、此皆木之堅者、亦植杉樹、得雨露之養、人取為柴、燃之可以暖體、可以烘餅、復作上帝像、俯伏而拜。材木之半、焚之可以備餚、可以炙肉、食之果腹、向火得暖、人樂以觀火。更有餘木、以製偶像、以像上帝、俯伏而拜、禱曰、誠我上帝、爾其救予、維彼不識不知、其目若塗以泥、其心不明、孰能深思其故、奮然儆醒曰、材木之半、焚之可以烘餅炙肉、而供口腹、則其餘材、豈可作像、拜此可憎之榾柮。彼心昏迷、所望成空、若食燼餘而不悟、不知右手所作、悉屬虛妄。

敵以鈎釣我、以網捕我、既得我眾、喜不自勝、獻祭焚香、以敬其網、因所得者多、食之果腹、

亦使異邦人、為厥矜恤、而讚上帝、經云、異邦之中、余頌美爾、謳歌爾名矣、

天下億兆、處幽暗、居晦冥、惟爾得我耶和華、榮光普照。

億兆之禮儀虛偽、有入林叢、以斧伐木、以工治之、以金銀飾之、以鎚釘之、使不搖動、屹立若柱、不能言、不能行、藉人肩負、彰癉不加、爾勿畏之。惟爾耶和華、至大至能、莫之與京。爾惟憶兆之大君、盡人當敬、孰不畏爾、列國諸聖者、不得與爾頡頏。崇拜偶像、愚蠢孰甚、欲知其妄、以木為證。

俾明厥目、轉暗為光、離撒但勢、歸於上帝、使眾信我、可得罪赦、同獲聖徒之業、

其一人見已愈、反而大聲歸榮上帝、俯伏耶穌足下稱謝、乃撒馬利亞人也、耶穌曰、潔者非十人乎、其九安在、此異民之外、未見反而歸榮上帝者也、
