自開闢以來、上帝之永能性體、目不及見、惟其所造之物、可睹而知、故人未由推諉、

蓋自有世以來、天主形而上之神性靈德、實可憑其所造之萬物而辨認洞見也。然則世人亦烏得而推諉乎？

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities— his eternal power and divine nature— have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

Ever since the world was created it has been possible to see the qualities of God that are not seen. I’m talking about his eternal power and about the fact that he is God. Those things can be seen in what he has made. So people have no excuse for what they do.

諸天述說主之榮耀、穹蒼傳揚主手所作、此日傳於彼日、此夜傳於彼夜、無言無語、亦無聲音可聞、聲音卻流通全地、言語卻傳至地極、主於其間為日設幕、日如新娶者出自洞房、又如勇士歡然趨道、出自天之此邊、運行至天之彼邊、無物不受其和煦、

諸天藉主命受造、天上萬象、亦由主口之氣而成、主將海水聚集如壘、以海洋為眾水之府庫、全地之人、皆當敬畏主、凡居世間者、皆當畏懼主、因主言有即有、命立即立、

即以行事彰明律法、銘於其心、是非之心、亦為之證、其意念互相褒貶、

我觀主手所造之天、與主所設之星月、

將地立於基上、使之永不動搖、

惟願尊貴榮光、歸於永生之王、不可壞、不可見、獨一睿智之天主、至於世世、阿們、○

從未有人見天主、惟獨生子在父懷者、彰明之、○

獨一永生、居於不得近之光明中、乃人所未見、亦不能見、願尊榮與永遠之權能歸之、阿們、○

又恐爾舉目向天、見日月星辰及諸星宿、諸星宿或作諸天像即主爾之天主為天下萬民所陳列者、則自迷惑崇拜奉事、

我之臟腑為主所造、我在母腹、主已覆庇我、

主之誠實、永世無窮、主一建地、地遂穩立、

若我未來訓之、則其人無罪、今其罪不得辭矣、

是以凡爾議人者、無可推諉、蓋爾何以議人、適以罪己、因爾所議者、己亦行之、

爾當賴主、至於永遠、因耶和華為自有之主、如磐可恃、因耶和華為自有之主如磐可恃或作因主為全能之天主永遠長存、

此奧今已昭著、且遵永生天主命、以先知書示諸異邦人知之、使其信服、

因有一嬰孩為我儕而生、有一子賜於我儕、國政為其所肩荷、其名稱為奇妙、策士、全能之神、永在之父、平康之君、

彼有信、離伊及不畏王怒、彼有恆心、如見不可見者、

蓋天主之盛德、具備在基督內、如有形然、

既為天主所生、則不當思天主之體、似金似銀似石、為人工機巧所製、

爾此愚昧無知之民、有目而不見、有耳而不聞、宜聽斯言、

蛟龍滄海、冰雹雪霧、遵主命之狂風、諸山眾嶺、結果之樹木、與一切柏香木、野獸六畜、昆蟲飛鳥、世人列王、以及萬民、公候以及世間牧伯、壯男少女、耆老孩童、

永生之天主、為爾護庇、恆於下土、以臂扶持、逐敵於爾前、命爾曰、當行殲滅、

山岡未曾生出、地與世界主未曾造成、從萬世之始至萬世之終、惟主乃天主、

如此、則可為爾天父之子、蓋天父使日照善者惡者、降雨於義者不義者、

亞伯拉罕植林於別是巴、在彼禱告永生耶和華天主之名、

曰、諸父兄弟、我今欲於爾前申訴、請聽我言、
