Then He said to me,‘ Depart, for I will send you far from here to the Gentiles.’”

Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you,to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’

So when the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another,“ No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow to live.”

A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, But it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, Shall not go astray.

For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!For if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have been entrusted with a stewardship.What is my reward then? That when I preach the gospel, I may present the gospel of Christ without charge, that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel.For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more;and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law;to those who are without law, as without law( not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law;to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil.

For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.

Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.

For it is written:“ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom;

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors— not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.

Professing to be wise, they became fools,

Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.

In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said,“ I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.

For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

Therefore, if I do not know the meaning of the language, I shall be a foreigner to him who speaks, and he who speaks will be a foreigner to me.

Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.

And the natives showed us unusual kindness; for they kindled a fire and made us all welcome, because of the rain that was falling and because of the cold.

Otherwise, if you bless with the spirit, how will he who occupies the place of the uninformed say“ Amen” at your giving of thanks, since he does not understand what you say?

Therefore if the whole church comes together in one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those who are uninformed or unbelievers, will they not say that you are out of your mind?But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all.

For you put up with fools gladly, since you yourselves are wise!

At that time Jesus answered and said,“ I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes.

“ How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, And fools hate knowledge.

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,redeeming the time, because the days are evil.Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

O you simple ones, understand prudence, And you fools, be of an understanding heart.
