The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:“ The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.”

The angel said to him,“ I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news.

“ See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.

Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels,“ Go, pour out the seven bowls of God’s wrath on the earth.”

Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to sound them.The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood,a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water—the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice:“ Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!”The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss.

When a trumpet sounds in a city, do not the people tremble? When disaster comes to a city, has not the Lord caused it?Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.The lion has roared— who will not fear? The Sovereign Lord has spoken— who can but prophesy?

I saw in heaven another great and marvelous sign: seven angels with the seven last plagues— last, because with them God’s wrath is completed.

The sixth angel sounded his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the four horns of the golden altar that is before God.It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet,“ Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.”

He stationed the Levites in the temple of the Lord with cymbals, harps and lyres in the way prescribed by David and Gad the king’s seer and Nathan the prophet; this was commanded by the Lord through his prophets.So the Levites stood ready with David’s instruments, and the priests with their trumpets.Hezekiah gave the order to sacrifice the burnt offering on the altar. As the offering began, singing to the Lord began also, accompanied by trumpets and the instruments of David king of Israel.The whole assembly bowed in worship, while the musicians played and the trumpets sounded. All this continued until the sacrifice of the burnt offering was completed.

The Lord said to Moses:“ Make two trumpets of hammered silver, and use them for calling the community together and for having the camps set out.When both are sounded, the whole community is to assemble before you at the entrance to the tent of meeting.If only one is sounded, the leaders— the heads of the clans of Israel— are to assemble before you.When a trumpet blast is sounded, the tribes camping on the east are to set out.At the sounding of a second blast, the camps on the south are to set out. The blast will be the signal for setting out.To gather the assembly, blow the trumpets, but not with the signal for setting out.“ The sons of Aaron, the priests, are to blow the trumpets. This is to be a lasting ordinance for you and the generations to come.When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the Lord your God and rescued from your enemies.Also at your times of rejoicing— your appointed festivals and New Moon feasts— you are to sound the trumpets over your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, and they will be a memorial for you before your God. I am the Lord your God.”
