Because you say,“ I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have no need of anything,” and you do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked,

蓋爾云、我富矣、已獲富有而無所需矣、不知爾乃困苦、堪悲、貧乏、瞽目、裸體、

爾自稱富有、無所匱缺、不知爾實困苦貧乏、瞽目裸身、

爾自言我富厚有財、無所匱缺、不知爾實可憫、困苦、貧乏、瞽目、裸身、

爾自謂富有、綽有餘裕、而無所欠缺；殊不知爾實為百無聊賴、貧窮不堪、盲而裸者。

You say,‘ I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.

You say,“ I am rich. I’ve become wealthy and don’t need anything.” But you don’t realize how pitiful and miserable you have become. You are poor, blind and naked.

For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.

You say,‘ I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.

For you say,‘ I’m rich; I have become wealthy and need nothing,’ and you don’t realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.

Because you say,‘ I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’— and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—

Because thou sayest, I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art the wretched one and miserable and poor and blind and naked:

Because you say,‘ I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing;’ and don’t know that you are the wretched one, miserable, poor, blind, and naked;

But when Jesus heard this, He said,“ It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.

There is one who pretends to be rich but has nothing; Another pretends to be poor, but has great wealth.

Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?

And Ephraim said,“ I have certainly become rich, I have found wealth for myself; In all my labors they will find in me No wrongdoing, which would be sin.”

For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

‘ I know your tribulation and your poverty( but you are rich), and the slander by those who say they are Jews, and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves waist coverings.

He has filled the hungry with good things, And sent the rich away empty handed.

otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, and you build good houses and live in them,and when your herds and your flocks increase, and your silver and gold increase, and everything that you have increases,then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery;

Those who were with Him from the Pharisees heard these things and said to Him,“ We are not blind too, are we?”Jesus said to them,“ If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now that you maintain,‘ We see,’ your sin remains.

“ Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

The Pharisee stood and began praying this in regard to himself:‘ God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, crooked, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’

Then the Lord struck the people with a plague, because of what they did with the calf which Aaron had made.

(“ Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes, so that he will not walk about naked and people will not see his shame.”)

But woe to you who are rich, for you are receiving your comfort in full.

Those who buy them slaughter them and go unpunished, and each of those who sell them says,‘ Blessed be the Lord, for I have become rich!’ And their own shepherds have no compassion for them.

For the one who lacks these qualities is blind or short sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins.

For I do not want you, brothers and sisters, to be uninformed of this mystery— so that you will not be wise in your own estimation— that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in;

Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith. Do not be conceited, but fear;

So that I will not be full and deny You and say,“ Who is the Lord?” And that I will not become impoverished and steal, And profane the name of my God.

Who is blind but My servant, Or so deaf as My messenger whom I send? Who is so blind as one who is at peace with Me, Or so blind as the servant of the Lord?

You are already filled, you have already become rich, you have become kings without us; and indeed, I wish that you had become kings so that we also might reign with you!For I think, God has exhibited us, the apostles, last of all as men condemned to death, because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to mankind.We are fools on account of Christ, but you are prudent in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are without honor!

You generation, look to the word of the Lord. Have I been a wilderness to Israel, Or a land of thick darkness? Why do My people say,‘ We are free to roam; We will no longer come to You’?

But if you call yourself a Jew and rely upon the Law and boast in God,and know His will and distinguish the things that matter, being instructed from the Law,and are confident that you yourself are a guide to people who are blind, a light to those in darkness,a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of the immature, possessing in the Law the embodiment of knowledge and of the truth—you, therefore, who teach someone else, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that one is not to steal, do you steal?You who say that one is not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who loathe idols, do you rob temples?You who boast in the Law, through your breaking the Law, do you dishonor God?

He said,“ I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself.”And He said,“ Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree from which I commanded you not to eat?”
