基督这么做，是要藉着话语，用水的洗涤而洁净教会，使她分别为圣，为要给自己预备一个荣耀的教会，没有污渍、皱纹或任何这类的事，却要她成为圣洁、毫无瑕疵。

那就是：神的义藉着对耶稣基督的信仰，临到所有信的人，并没有分别。

相反，要穿上主耶稣基督；不要为了私欲而在属肉体的事上做任何安排。

她们正为这件事心里困惑的时候，忽然有两个人，身穿闪闪发光的衣服，站在她们旁边。

我建议你向我买被火炼过的金子，使你富足；又买白衣穿上，使你赤身的羞耻不露出来；又买眼药抹你的眼睛，使你能看见。
