世上諸王、素與行淫而奢華者、見所焚之煙、則為之哭而擗、

天下諸王、素與巴比倫行淫、專事華靡、見厥火炎炎、必哭之哀、

天下諸王、素與彼行淫、奢侈宴樂、見焚之之煙、必為之悲痛號泣、

世之百王與之共淫、而同享侈泰者、必將目擊其火焰、而號咷大哭；

因为列国都被她荒淫的烈酒灌醉了。地上的君王曾经与她通奸，地上的商人也因她穷奢极侈的生活而发了财。”

他们又欢呼说：“哈利路亚！焚烧大淫妇的烟不断上腾，直到永永远远。”

看见烧她的烟，就说，‘有哪一座城能与她相比呢？’

沿海诸王因你而恐惧，都从宝座上下来，除去王袍，脱掉锦衣，坐在地上发抖。他们必为你唱哀歌说，“‘你这海上众民居住的名城，向来称雄海上，威震邻邦，现在怎么被毁灭了呢？

他们受煎熬所发出的烟不断上升，永无休止。那些拜兽、兽像和接受了兽名印记的人昼夜不得安宁。”

巴比伦被毁灭的消息震动天下，呼喊声传到列国。

上天啊，众圣徒、众使徒和众先知啊，为她的下场欢乐吧！因为上帝已经向她施行报应，为你们申冤了。”

她过去怎样自炫自耀、奢华荒淫，现在也要让她怎样痛苦哀伤。因为她心里说，‘我贵为女王，不是寡妇，绝不会经历哀伤。’

遍地将是硫磺和盐，无法耕种，寸草不生，如同耶和华盛怒之下毁灭的所多玛、蛾摩拉、押玛和洗扁。

以东的河流要变为沥青，土壤要变成硫磺，大地要成为燃烧的沥青，昼夜燃烧，浓烟滚滚，永不止息。以东必世世代代荒废，人踪绝迹。

“‘我把你灭亡的消息带到你不认识的列邦时，必使许多人惶恐不安。我在他们面前挥刀攻击你的时候，各国的人都必因你而惊骇，他们的君王必胆战心惊。在你倾覆那天，他们都必时刻为自己的性命战战兢兢。’

巴比伦在列国中辉煌无比，是迦勒底人的荣耀，但上帝必毁灭她，好像毁灭所多玛和蛾摩拉一样。

他大声说，砍倒那棵树，削掉它的枝子，剥光它的叶子，抛散它的果子，使野兽逃离树下，飞鸟离开枝头。

焚烧之地——陀斐特早已为亚述王预备好了，那里又宽又深，堆着许多木柴，耶和华的气必如同一股硫磺火点燃那些木柴。

上帝要毁灭巴比伦，像毁灭所多玛、蛾摩拉及其周围的城邑一样，使那里人烟绝迹。这是耶和华说的。

义人必因恶人遭报而欢欣，并用恶人的血洗脚。

你看见的那十个角象征另外十个还没有得势的王，他们将取得王权和那怪兽一同统治短暂的一段时期。他们一致同意把自己所有的能力和权柄交给那怪兽。

松树啊，哀号吧，因为香柏树已经倒下，挺拔的树木已被毁坏。巴珊的橡树啊，哀号吧，因为茂密的树林已被砍倒。听啊，牧人在哀号，因为他们肥美的草场已被毁坏。听啊，狮子在吼叫，因为约旦河畔的丛林已被毁坏。

向所多玛、蛾摩拉和整个平原眺望，只见那里浓烟滚滚，好像火窑的烟一样。
