惟爾居於大水之濱、多有貨財、爾之終局已至、爾貪婪特甚、惡貫已滿、

其審判惟真與公、已審判淫亂敗世之大淫婦、彼流天主僕人之血、今天主報之、為僕人伸冤、

七天使執盛七末災之盂、其一就我曰、來、我將以新婦即羔之妻示爾、

大邑裂為三、異邦諸邑傾圮、巴比倫大邑為天主記憶、欲以盛天主大怒之酒杯予之飲、

我別見異象在天、大且奇、即七天使握末時之七災、以盡天主之怒、

可歎斯邑昔為忠信、今成如妓、昔公平充盈其中、善義託處其間、今則殺人者居之、

曰、此大邑衣以枲布紫絳之衣、飾以金珠寶石、富有如此之大、頃刻間消滅、哀哉、哀哉、凡舟長舟子、及乘舟者、與諸航海之商旅、皆遠立、見焚彼之煙、呼曰、何邑能比此大邑乎、以塵埃蒙首、蒙首原文作撒於首號泣悲痛、呼曰、此大邑以其珍寶、使凡操舟於海者致富、頃刻間成為荒墟、哀哉、哀哉、

我自昔折爾軛、解爾繩、爾曰、不復犯罪、然仍在各崇岡之上、各茂樹之下、奉事偶像、行若淫婦、

惟爾女巫之子、姦淫之人及妓女所生者、咸可來此、
