你所看見的獸、先前有、如今沒有，牠將要從無底坑上來、而走向着滅亡。住在地上的人、其名字從世界創立以來沒有記在生命冊上的、見那先前有、如今沒有、將來還要有的獸、都必驚奇。

因了得權柄而在獸面前能行神迹、牠就迷惑住在地上的人，告訴住在地上的人要為那受刀擊傷還活着的獸造像。

他們都有同一樣的心意、將自己的能力和權柄給予獸。

因為上帝將念頭放在他們心中，叫他們行他的心意，行一樣的心意，將自己的國給予獸，直到上帝一切的話語都得應驗。

我看見一隻獸從海裏上來，有十個角七個頭；十個角上戴着十個冠冕；七個頭上還有褻瀆的名。我所看見的獸彷彿是豹，牠的腳像熊的腳，牠的口像獅子的口。龍將自己的能力、座位、和大權柄、都給了牠。

牠行了頭一隻獸的一切權柄在獸面前，叫地和住在地上的人都拜頭一隻獸、就是受了能致死之傷還得治好的那隻獸。

眾人從小的到大的、都意向着他，說：『這個人就是上帝的能力，那稱為大能力的！』他們意向着他，因為他行邪術使他們驚奇、已有好久了。

我必使巴比倫王的膀臂有力量，將我的刀交於他手中；法老的膀臂我卻要打斷，他就必在巴比倫王面前哼出死傷人那樣的唉哼。

又是七個王：五個已經倒了，一個還在，另一個還未來到；他來的時候，必須存留片時。

那不法者之「來臨」是依撒但「所運用的動力」、用各樣虛謊之異能神迹奇事，用各樣不義之誘惑施在趨於滅亡的人身上的，因為他們不接受愛真理的心而使他們得救。

西門自己也信了；既受了洗，就常和腓利在一起；他看見所行的神迹和大異能，就驚奇。
