我立於海沙、見一獸由海而上、七首十角、角戴十冕、褻瀆名號書於首上、我所見之獸、形似豹、足如熊、口如獅、龍以己之能與位及大權賜之、

行前獸之權於前獸之前、使地與凡居於地之人、拜受傷幾死而得愈之前獸、

老少無不聽信之、曰、此人乃天主之大能也、其聽信之故、因彼久以巫術駭民、

我必堅巴比倫王之臂、以我刃付於其手、我必折法老之臂、使其嘆息於巴比倫王前、若受傷者之嘆息然、使其嘆息於巴比倫王前若受傷者之嘆息然或作法老既受重傷必嘆息於巴比倫王前

亦為七王、五王已傾、一王尚在、一王尚未至、及至惟存片時、

彼惡者至、藉撒但之力、行一切虛偽之大能異跡奇事、及種種惑眾之邪惡、在將沈淪者之中、蓋彼眾不悅真理、且不受之而得救、故天主使其大謬、信從虛偽、使凡不信真理反悅不義者、悉被定罪、○

西門亦信、既受洗禮、常偕腓立、見其所行異跡奇事、甚異之、

我見婦飲聖徒之血、及為耶穌作證者之血、飲而醉矣、我見之不勝驚駭、

法利賽人相語曰、豈不見爾曹所謀、全無益乎、舉世皆從之矣、○
