因為你遵守了我忍耐的教導，我還要保守你脫離那試煉的時刻，就是那將要臨到普天下，考驗住在地上之人的時刻。

為了我的名，你們將被所有的人憎恨，但是忍耐到底的，這個人將會得救。

耶和華我的神哪，求你照著你的公義為我施行審判！不要讓他們對我幸災樂禍，不要讓他們心裡說：「啊哈，這正如我們所願！」不要讓他們說：「我們已經把他吞掉了！」願那些對我幸災樂禍的，全都抱愧蒙羞；願那些在我面前高抬自己的，披上恥辱和羞愧。

如果有人想要傷害他們，火就從他們的口中出來，吞滅他們的敵人；如果有人想要傷害他們，就必定這樣被殺。這兩個人有權柄閉塞天空，使雨水在他們做先知傳道的日子不降下來；又有權柄統管眾水，使水變成血，並且能隨時隨意用各樣災害擊打大地。

議會的人聽了，勃然大怒，就想要殺了他們。

藉著那些奇蹟，就是牠被准許在第一隻獸面前所行的奇蹟，牠就迷惑了住在地上的人，告訴住在地上的人，要為那受刀傷卻活過來的獸，造一個像。

因這緣故，住在鄉下村鎮的猶太人，守亞達月十四日為喜樂、宴席、慶祝的日子，彼此送食物。末迪凱記下了這些事，並且把詔書傳送給亞哈隨魯王各省遠近所有的猶太人，吩咐他們：每年都要守亞達月十四日和十五日，因為本月的這兩日，是猶太人擺脫他們的仇敵，從悲哀轉為喜樂、從哀慟轉為慶祝的日子；他們要守這兩日為宴席和喜樂的日子，彼此送食物，也送禮物給窮人。

你的仇敵跌倒時，你不要歡喜；他傾倒時，你的心不要快樂；

不為不義歡喜，而與真理同樂；

你使他敵人的右手高舉，使他一切的仇敵歡喜。

免得我的仇敵說「我勝過了他」；免得我的敵人在我動搖時快樂。

住在地上的人，凡是名字從創世以來沒有記在那被殺羔羊的生命冊上的，都將膜拜牠。

「我確確實實地告訴你們：你們將會痛哭、哀號，這世界反而會喜樂；你們將會憂傷，然而你們的憂傷要變成喜樂。

他們聽了這些話就勃然大怒，向司提反咬牙切齒。但是司提反充滿聖靈，注目望天，看見了神的榮耀，又看見耶穌站在神的右邊。他說：「看哪，我看見諸天開了，人子站在神的右邊。」於是他們大聲喊叫，摀著耳朵，一齊向他衝過去，

但那些不肯信從的猶太人嫉妒了，就招聚一些市井無賴，成群結夥，擾亂城市。他們闖進耶森的家，搜尋保羅和賽拉斯，要把他們帶到民眾那裡。可是找不到他們，就把耶森和幾位弟兄拉到地方官們那裡，喊叫說：「這些攪亂天下的，也來到這裡，

求你不要讓那些無理與我為敵的對我幸災樂禍，不要讓那些無故恨我的用眼嘲弄我；

第五位天使把他的碗倒在那獸的寶座上，獸的國就變成黑暗了，人們因痛苦而咬自己的舌頭。

那龍一見自己被摔在地上，就追逼那生了男孩的婦人。
