John, To the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne,

I, John, am writing this letter. I am sending it to the seven churches in Asia Minor. May grace and peace come to you from God. He is the one who is, and who was, and who will come. May grace and peace come to you from the seven spirits. These spirits are in front of God’s throne.

This letter is from John to the seven churches in the province of Asia. Grace and peace to you from the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come; from the sevenfold Spirit before his throne;

John, to the seven assemblies that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from God, who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne;

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from eternity to eternity, you are God.

The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him— a Spirit of wisdom and understanding, a Spirit of counsel and strength, a Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.

Flashes of lightning and rumblings and peals of thunder came from the throne. Seven fiery torches were burning before the throne, which are the seven spirits of God.

Then I saw one like a slaughtered lamb standing in the midst of the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent into all the earth.

“ Write to the angel of the church in Sardis: Thus says the one who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars: I know your works; you have a reputation for being alive, but you are dead.

For who despises the day of small things? These seven eyes of the LORD, which scan throughout the whole earth, will rejoice when they see the ceremonial stone in Zerubbabel’s hand.”

“ I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God,“ the one who is, who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Who has performed and done this, calling the generations from the beginning? I am the LORD, the first and with the last— I am he.”

Notice the stone I have set before Joshua; on that one stone are seven eyes. I will engrave an inscription on it”— this is the declaration of the LORD of Armies—“ and I will take away the iniquity of this land in a single day.

To all who are in Rome, loved by God, called as saints. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

God replied to Moses,“ I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you.”

And: In the beginning, Lord, you established the earth, and the heavens are the works of your hands;they will perish, but you remain. They will all wear out like clothing;you will roll them up like a cloak, and they will be changed like clothing. But you are the same, and your years will never end.Now to which of the angels has he ever said: Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool?

For the High and Exalted One, who lives forever, whose name is holy, says this:“ I live in a high and holy place, and with the oppressed and lowly of spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and revive the heart of the oppressed.

“ Write to the angel of the church in Philadelphia: Thus says the Holy One, the true one, the one who has the key of David, who opens and no one will close, and who closes and no one opens:

Each of the four living creatures had six wings; they were covered with eyes around and inside. Day and night they never stop, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God, the Almighty, who was, who is, and who is to come.

Bethlehem Ephrathah, you are small among the clans of Judah; one will come from you to be ruler over Israel for me. His origin is from antiquity, from ancient times.

Long ago you established the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.They will perish, but you will endure; all of them will wear out like clothing. You will change them like a garment, and they will pass away.But you are the same, and your years will never end.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Now there are different gifts, but the same Spirit.There are different ministries, but the same Lord.And there are different activities, but the same God works all of them in each person.A manifestation of the Spirit is given to each person for the common good:to one is given a message of wisdom through the Spirit, to another, a message of knowledge by the same Spirit,to another, faith by the same Spirit, to another, gifts of healing by the one Spirit,to another, the performing of miracles, to another, prophecy, to another, distinguishing between spirits, to another, different kinds of tongues, to another, interpretation of tongues.One and the same Spirit is active in all these, distributing to each person as he wills.For just as the body is one and has many parts, and all the parts of that body, though many, are one body— so also is Christ.For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body— whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free— and we were all given one Spirit to drink.

“ Write to the angel of the church in Smyrna: Thus says the First and the Last, the one who was dead and came to life:

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ: To those chosen, living as exiles dispersed abroad in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, chosenaccording to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient and to be sprinkled with the blood of Jesus Christ. May grace and peace be multiplied to you.

The mystery of the seven stars you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.“ Write to the angel of the church in Ephesus: Thus says the one who holds the seven stars in his right hand and who walks among the seven golden lampstands:

This went on for two years, so that all the residents of Asia, both Jews and Greeks, heard the word of the Lord.

The angel told me,“ These are the four spirits of heaven going out after presenting themselves to the Lord of the whole earth.
