And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting at the right, wearing a white robe; and they were amazed.But he* said to them,“ Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen; He is not here; see, here is the place where they laid Him.

Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will also help you, I will also uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

When he had spoken to me according to these words, I turned my face toward the ground and became speechless.

But they were startled and frightened, and thought that they were looking at a spirit.And He said to them,“ Why are you frightened, and why are doubts arising in your hearts?See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, because a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you plainly see that I have.”

saying,“ Write on a scroll what you see, and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”

After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying,“ Do not fear, Abram, I am a shield to you; Your reward shall be very great.”

Peter turned around and* saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them— the one who also had leaned back on His chest at the supper and said,“ Lord, who is the one who is betraying You?”

But Moses said to the people,“ Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will perform for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again, ever.

The guards shook from fear of him and became like dead men.

However, Moses said to the people,“ Do not be afraid; for God has come in order to test you, and in order that the fear of Him may remain with you, so that you will not sin.”

I heard, and my inner parts trembled; At the sound, my lips quivered. Decay enters my bones, And in my place I tremble; Because I must wait quietly for the day of distress, For the people to arise who will attack us.

Lying back on Jesus’ chest was one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.
