經云：『人生如野草、榮華草上花草枯花亦謝：

盍看彼群小。嶄然露頭角。

昔有一富翁、衣紫披紗、日事飲食宴樂；一丐名辣柴魯、瘡痍徧體、臥其門外、欲食富翁几下餘屑、而不可得、更有犬來舐瘡。無何、丐死、天神送諸亞伯漢懷中。富翁亦死、葬後慘受地獄之苦、偶舉目遙見亞伯漢、與其懷中之辣柴魯、乃竭聲而呼曰：「大父亞伯漢、其垂憐焉！予處燄中、苦不堪言、請發辣柴魯沾水指尖、以涼吾舌。」亞伯漢曰：「兒乎、當憶汝生前如何享樂、辣柴魯如何受苦、今則彼見慰、而汝受罪矣。

莫羨彼群小。莫妒作惡人。蔓草終被芟。蕭艾豈常青。

曾見惡勢張。葱翠如春林。旋復經其宅。蕭條不見人。

富貴者應以謙恭為樂。蓋世之榮華、猶如草花、不久即謝；烈日以曝之、毒熱以薰之、而草槁矣、而花落矣、而其美亡矣。富貴之終歸衰落亦復如是。

炎威不可當炙手信可熱。

人生如草。當春發榮。朔風一至。杳焉無存。蹤跡蕩然。一如未生。

又如中宵夢。夢醒更已易。光陰似急湍。漂人到大海。人生如朝菌。晨榮暮凋謝。
