For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord; I sing for joy at what your hands have done.

But thanks be to God who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and who makes known through us the fragrance that consists of the knowledge of him in every place.

So this is what the sovereign LORD says:“ Look, my servants will eat, but you will be hungry! Look, my servants will drink, but you will be thirsty! Look, my servants will rejoice, but you will be humiliated!Look, my servants will shout for joy as happiness fills their hearts! But you will cry out as sorrow fills your hearts; you will wail because your spirits will be crushed.

you appoint them to rule over your creation; you have placed everything under their authority,

( Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, for God has pronounced judgment against her on your behalf!)

So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.

Be happy for Jerusalem and rejoice with her, all you who love her! Share in her great joy, all you who have mourned over her!For you will nurse from her satisfying breasts and be nourished; you will feed with joy from her milk-filled breasts.

Moreover, the LORD says,“ Sing for joy for the descendants of Jacob. Utter glad shouts for that foremost of the nations. Make your praises heard. Then say,‘ LORD, rescue your people. Deliver those of Israel who remain alive.’

Shout for joy, Daughter Zion! Shout out, Israel! Be happy and boast with all your heart, Daughter Jerusalem!The LORD has removed the judgment against you; he has turned back your enemy. Israel’s king, the LORD, is in your midst! You no longer need to fear disaster.On that day they will say to Jerusalem,“ Don’t be afraid, Zion! Your hands must not be paralyzed from panic!

May your servants see your work! May their sons see your majesty!

They will proclaim the power of your awesome acts! I will declare your great deeds!They will talk about the fame of your great kindness, and sing about your justice.

For the LORD will rescue the descendants of Jacob. He will secure their release from those who had overpowered them.They will come and shout for joy on Mount Zion. They will be radiant with joy over the good things the LORD provides, the grain, the fresh wine, the olive oil, the young sheep and calves he has given to them. They will be like a well-watered garden and will not grow faint or weary any more.The LORD says,“ At that time young women will dance and be glad. Young men and old men will rejoice. I will turn their grief into gladness. I will give them comfort and joy in place of their sorrow.

Deliver us, O LORD, our God! Gather us from among the nations! Then we will give thanks to your holy name, and boast about your praiseworthy deeds.The LORD God of Israel deserves praise, in the future and forevermore. Let all the people say,“ We agree! Praise the LORD!”

The LORD did indeed accomplish great things for us. We were happy.

I recall the old days; I meditate on all you have done; I reflect on your accomplishments.

The godly will rejoice in the LORD and take shelter in him. All the morally upright will boast.

May my thoughts be pleasing to him! I will rejoice in the LORD.

May the splendor of the LORD endure! May the LORD find pleasure in the living things he has made!

to announce the year when the LORD will show his favor, the day when our God will seek vengeance, to console all who mourn,to strengthen those who mourn in Zion, by giving them a turban, instead of ashes, oil symbolizing joy, instead of mourning, a garment symbolizing praise, instead of discouragement. They will be called oaks of righteousness, trees planted by the LORD to reveal his splendor.They will rebuild the perpetual ruins and restore the places that were desolate; they will reestablish the ruined cities, the places that have been desolate since ancient times.“ Foreigners will take care of your sheep; foreigners will work in your fields and vineyards.You will be called,‘ the LORD’s priests, servants of our God.’ You will enjoy the wealth of nations and boast about the riches you receive from them.Instead of shame, you will get a double portion; instead of humiliation, they will rejoice over the land they receive. Yes, they will possess a double portion in their land and experience lasting joy.For I, the LORD, love justice and hate robbery and sin. I will repay them because of my faithfulness; I will make a permanent covenant with them.Their descendants will be known among the nations, their offspring among the peoples. All who see them will recognize that the LORD has blessed them.”I will greatly rejoice in the LORD; I will be overjoyed because of my God. For he clothes me in garments of deliverance; he puts on me a robe symbolizing vindication. I look like a bridegroom when he wears a turban as a priest would; I look like a bride when she puts on her jewelry.For just as the ground produces its crops and a garden yields its produce, so the sovereign LORD will cause deliverance to grow, and give his people reason to praise him in the sight of all the nations.
