或黑暗中橫行的瘟疫，或正午肆虐的災難。

不怕幽暗中流行的瘟疫，或中午間滅人的毒病。

暗中流行之疫癘、午間勦滅之災患、爾皆不懼兮、

亦不懼黑暗之瘟災、日午害人之毒病、

午夜魑魅不爾擾。中晝群魔不爾殄。

nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.

You won’t have to be afraid of the sickness that attacks in the darkness. You won’t have to fear the plague that destroys at noon.

Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.

Of the plague that stalks in darkness, Or of the destruction that devastates at noon.

Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

For the pestilence that walketh in darkness, Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

He stood between the dead and the living, and the plague was halted.

The LORD protects you; the LORD is a shelter right by your side.The sun will not strike you by day or the moon by night.

You are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, because these things must take place, but the end is not yet.For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.

They all ate the same spiritual food,and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ.Nevertheless God was not pleased with most of them, since they were struck down in the wilderness.Now these things took place as examples for us, so that we will not desire evil things as they did.Don’t become idolaters as some of them were; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and got up to party.Let us not commit sexual immorality as some of them did, and in a single day twenty-three thousand people died.Let us not test Christ as some of them did and were destroyed by snakes.And don’t grumble as some of them did, and were killed by the destroyer.

That night the angel of the LORD went out and struck down one hundred eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians. When the people got up the next morning— there were all the dead bodies!

Now at midnight the LORD struck every firstborn male in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the prisoner who was in the dungeon, and every firstborn of the livestock.During the night Pharaoh got up, he along with all his officials and all the Egyptians, and there was a loud wailing throughout Egypt because there wasn’t a house without someone dead.

So the LORD sent a plague on Israel from that morning until the appointed time, and from Dan to Beer-sheba seventy thousand men died.
