昔爾顯厥異象、諭爾愛僕、曰、維彼傑士、余所眷佑、在兆民間、余遴選之、登庸之兮、

當初主在默示中應許虔誠人云、我施恩以助英雄、我升舉民中被選者、

義塞之恩主。吾族所托庇。

Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful people you said:“ I have bestowed strength on a warrior; I have raised up a young man from among the people.

You once spoke to your faithful people in a vision. You said,“ I have given strength to a soldier. I have raised up a young man from among the people.

Long ago you spoke in a vision to your faithful people. You said,“ I have raised up a warrior. I have selected him from the common people to be king.

You once spoke in a vision to your faithful ones and said,“ I have granted help to a warrior; I have exalted one chosen from the people.

Once You spoke in vision to Your godly ones, And said,“ I have given help to one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people.

Then You spoke in a vision to Your holy one, And said:“ I have given help to one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people.

Then thou spakest in vision to thy saints, And saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

You once spoke in a vision to Your loyal ones and said:“ I have granted help to a warrior; I have exalted one chosen from the people.

Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon[ one that is] mighty; I have exalted[ one] chosen out of the people.

Then you spoke through a vision to your faithful followers and said:“ I have energized a warrior; I have raised up a young man from the people.

Then you spoke in vision to your saints, and said,“ I have given strength to the warrior. I have exalted a young man from the people.

Nevertheless, I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him ruler all the days of his life, for the sake of David my servant whom I chose, who kept my commandments and my statutes.

One of the young men answered,“ Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a man of good presence, and the Lord is with him.”

For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering.For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers,saying,“ I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.”And again,“ I will put my trust in him.” And again,“ Behold, I and the children God has given me.”Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he helps the offspring of Abraham.Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all the day long,“ Where is your God?”

that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles,

Their prince shall be one of themselves; their ruler shall come out from their midst; I will make him draw near, and he shall approach me, for who would dare of himself to approach me? declares the Lord.

“ And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write:‘ The words of the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens.

Now, therefore, thus you shall say to my servant David,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts, I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, that you should be prince over my people Israel.And I have been with you wherever you went and have cut off all your enemies from before you. And I will make for you a great name, like the name of the great ones of the earth.And I will appoint a place for my people Israel and will plant them, so that they may dwell in their own place and be disturbed no more. And violent men shall afflict them no more, as formerly,from the time that I appointed judges over my people Israel. And I will give you rest from all your enemies. Moreover, the Lord declares to you that the Lord will make you a house.When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. When he commits iniquity, I will discipline him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men,but my steadfast love will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before you.And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me. Your throne shall be established forever.’”In accordance with all these words, and in accordance with all this vision, Nathan spoke to David.

You have said,“ I have made a covenant with my chosen one; I have sworn to David my servant:

as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old,

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Then even the valiant man, whose heart is like the heart of a lion, will utterly melt with fear, for all Israel knows that your father is a mighty man, and that those who are with him are valiant men.

“ What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are— the Holy One of God.”

The Lord said to Samuel,“ How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided for myself a king among his sons.”

who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
