I am overwhelmed with troubles and my life draws near to death.

Their soul abhors all kinds of food. They draw near to the gates of death.

He will prolong his days and Yahweh’s pleasure will prosper in his hand.After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light and be satisfied. My righteous servant will justify many by the knowledge of himself; and he will bear their iniquities.

Don’t be far from me, for trouble is near. For there is no one to help.Many bulls have surrounded me. Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me.They open their mouths wide against me, lions tearing prey and roaring.I am poured out like water. All my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax. It is melted within me.My strength is dried up like a potsherd. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You have brought me into the dust of death.For dogs have surrounded me. A company of evildoers have enclosed me. They have pierced my hands and feet.I can count all of my bones. They look and stare at me.They divide my garments among them. They cast lots for my clothing.But don’t be far off, Yahweh. You are my help. Hurry to help me!Deliver my soul from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dog.Save me from the lion’s mouth! Yes, you have rescued me from the horns of the wild oxen.

They mount up to the sky; they go down again to the depths. Their soul melts away because of trouble.

In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord. My hand was stretched out in the night, and didn’t get tired. My soul refused to be comforted.

“ Oh that my anguish were weighed, and all my calamity laid in the balances!For now it would be heavier than the sand of the seas, therefore have my words been rash.For the arrows of the Almighty are within me. My spirit drinks up their poison. The terrors of God set themselves in array against me.

Yahweh, why do you reject my soul? Why do you hide your face from me?I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up. While I suffer your terrors, I am distracted.

Yes, his soul draws near to the pit, and his life to the destroyers.

He has filled me with bitterness. He has stuffed me with wormwood.He has also broken my teeth with gravel. He has covered me with ashes.You have removed my soul far away from peace. I forgot prosperity.I said,“ My strength has perished, along with my expectation from Yahweh.”Remember my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the bitterness.
