For in death there is no remembrance of you; in Sheol who will give you praise?

“ What profit is there in my death, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness?

For Sheol does not thank you; death does not praise you; those who go down to the pit do not hope for your faithfulness.The living, the living, he thanks you, as I do this day; the father makes known to the children your faithfulness.

“ For there is hope for a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its shoots will not cease.Though its root grow old in the earth, and its stump die in the soil,yet at the scent of water it will bud and put out branches like a young plant.But a man dies and is laid low; man breathes his last, and where is he?As waters fail from a lake and a river wastes away and dries up,so a man lies down and rises not again; till the heavens are no more he will not awake or be roused out of his sleep.

Your dead shall live; their bodies shall rise. You who dwell in the dust, awake and sing for joy! For your dew is a dew of light, and the earth will give birth to the dead.

As he drew near to the gate of the town, behold, a man who had died was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow, and a considerable crowd from the town was with her.And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her,“ Do not weep.”Then he came up and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said,“ Young man, I say to you, arise.”And the dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother.Fear seized them all, and they glorified God, saying,“ A great prophet has arisen among us!” and“ God has visited his people!”

The dead do not praise the Lord, nor do any who go down into silence.

While he was still speaking, there came from the ruler’s house some who said,“ Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue,“ Do not fear, only believe.”

in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:“ Death is swallowed up in victory.”“ O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The hand of the Lord was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones.And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry.And he said to me,“ Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered,“ O Lord God, you know.”Then he said to me,“ Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the Lord.”So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone.And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them.Then he said to me,“ Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.Then he said to me,“ Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say,‘ Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off.’Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will bring you into the land of Israel.And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people.And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the Lord.”

I shall not die, but I shall live, and recount the deeds of the Lord.
