See how your enemies growl, how your foes rear their heads.

See how your enemies are growling like dogs. See how they are rising up against you.

For behold, your enemies make an uproar; those who hate you have raised their heads.

Don’t you hear the uproar of your enemies? Don’t you see that your arrogant enemies are rising up?

See how your enemies make an uproar; those who hate you have acted arrogantly.

For behold, Your enemies make an uproar, And those who hate You have exalted themselves.

For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head.

For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult; And they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

See how Your enemies make an uproar; those who hate You have acted arrogantly.

For look, your enemies are making a commotion; those who hate you are hostile.

For, behold, your enemies are stirred up. Those who hate you have lifted up their heads.

The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.

Thus was Midian subdued before the children of Israel, so that they lifted up their heads no more. And the country was in quietness forty years in the days of Gideon.

Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,

I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:Lift not up your horn on high: speak[ not with] a stiff neck.

Because thy rage against me and thy tumult is come up into mine ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.

When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but[ that] rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed[ his] hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye[ to it].

And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat[ them].

Forget not the voice of thine enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually.

And when they heard[ these sayings], they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great[ is] Diana of the Ephesians.And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul’s companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not.And certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent unto him, desiring[ him] that he would not adventure himself into the theatre.Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused; and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence unto the people.But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great[ is] Diana of the Ephesians.And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said,[ Ye] men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the[ image] which fell down from Jupiter?Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly.For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess.Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them implead one another.But if ye enquire any thing concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly.For we are in danger to be called in question for this day’s uproar, there being no cause whereby we may give an account of this concourse.And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.

And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I[ am] with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed,[ saying],

But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling[ was] with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and[ that] he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath[ is], and whose[ are] all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:

And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring[ him] into the castle.

Because thy rage against me, and thy tumult, is come up into mine ears, therefore will I put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.

And they gave him audience unto this word, and[ then] lifted up their voices, and said, Away with such a[ fellow] from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live.

Woe to the multitude of many people,[ which] make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations,[ that] make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!

The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.

But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.

Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns[ for] signs.

And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.

Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted[ thy] voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high?[ even] against the Holy One of Israel.
