求我天主使之如旋風、使之如糠秕隨風飄蕩、

主豈不聞其狂言。『吾欲併吞主第宅。』

Make them like tumbleweed, my God, like chaff before the wind.

Let them be like chaff before the wind, With the angel of the Lord driving them on.

Will You scare away a scattered leaf? Or will You pursue the dry chaff?

Scarcely have they been planted, Scarcely have they been sown, Scarcely has their stock taken root in the earth, But He merely blows on them, and they wither, And the storm carries them away like stubble.

Therefore I will scatter them like drifting straw To the desert wind.

His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear His threshing floor; and He will gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

And in the greatness of Your excellence You overthrow those who rise up against You; You send out Your burning anger, and it consumes them like chaff.

Oh, the uproar of many peoples Who roar like the roaring of the seas, And the rumbling of nations Who rush on like the rumbling of mighty waters!The nations rumble on like the rumbling of many waters, But He will rebuke them, and they will flee far away, And be chased like chaff on the mountains before the wind, Or like whirling dust before a gale.At evening time, behold, there is terror! Before morning they are gone. This will be the fate of those who plunder us And the lot of those who pillage us.

You are my King, God; Command victories for Jacob.

May God arise, may His enemies be scattered, And may those who hate Him flee from His presence.As smoke is driven away, so drive them away; As wax melts before a fire, So the wicked will perish before God.

Who has stirred one from the east Whom He calls in righteousness to His feet? He turns nations over to him And subdues kings. He makes them like dust with his sword, Like the wind driven chaff with his bow.

Why do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand? Extend it from Your chest and destroy them!Yet God is my King from long ago, Who performs acts of salvation in the midst of the earth.

My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Far from my help are the words of my groaning.
