So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying his commands.

Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.

This means that God’s holy people must endure persecution patiently, obeying his commands and maintaining their faith in Jesus.

Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome.

Oh, that they would always have hearts like this, that they might fear me and obey all my commands! If they did, they and their descendants would prosper forever.

“ But watch out! Be careful never to forget what you yourself have seen. Do not let these memories escape from your mind as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren.

“ But that is the time to be careful! Beware that in your plenty you do not forget the Lord your God and disobey his commands, regulations, and decrees that I am giving you today.

The Lord says,“ I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.

and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said,“ This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”

Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because he raised Christ from the dead and gave him great glory.

the Jews throughout the realm agreed to inaugurate this tradition and to pass it on to their descendants and to all who became Jews. They declared they would never fail to celebrate these two prescribed days at the appointed time each year.These days would be remembered and kept from generation to generation and celebrated by every family throughout the provinces and cities of the empire. This Festival of Purim would never cease to be celebrated among the Jews, nor would the memory of what happened ever die out among their descendants.

But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the Lord their God.

Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands.

be careful not to forget the Lord, who rescued you from slavery in the land of Egypt.

But don’t be afraid of them! Just remember what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all the land of Egypt.Remember the great terrors the Lord your God sent against them. You saw it all with your own eyes! And remember the miraculous signs and wonders, and the strong hand and powerful arm with which he brought you out of Egypt. The Lord your God will use this same power against all the people you fear.

Remember the wonders he has performed, his miracles, and the rulings he has given,

“ But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.

Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.

“ Remember, these instructions are a permanent law that you and your descendants must observe forever.When you enter the land the Lord has promised to give you, you will continue to observe this ceremony.Then your children will ask,‘ What does this ceremony mean?’And you will reply,‘ It is the Passover sacrifice to the Lord, for he passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt. And I said,“ This is my fate; the Most High has turned his hand against me.”But then I recall all you have done, O Lord; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago.They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works.

Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols.
