就是摩西在以色列人出埃及後所曉諭他們的法度、律例、典章，

當約瑟從埃及出來的時候，上帝在約瑟中立了法度。我聽見一位我不認識者的話說：

他將他的話曉諭雅各，將他的律例典章指示以色列。

不，人應當以上帝所指教的和神言人所警告的為根據；他們若不按這標準說話，就得不到曙光。

是我們所聽過所知道的，我們祖宗對我們敘述過的。我們不將這些事向他們的子孫隱瞞；我們乃要將永恆主可頌可讚的事和他的能力、及他所行的奇妙作為、向後代的人敘說。

各方面多着呢：第一，上帝的神諭是託付了他們的。

將法櫃安設在那裏，用帷帳將櫃遮掩着。

你要將除罪蓋安在櫃的上邊，又將我所要賜給你的證言法版放在櫃裏。

惟獨活人、活人才會稱謝你，像我今日一樣；為父的總要使兒女知道你的忠信。

我和他知交，是要叫他吩咐他的子孫、和他以後的家屬一直走我永恆主的道路，秉公行義，為要使永恆主指着亞伯拉罕所應許的話都歸給他。』

你們要將這些話教訓你們的兒女、來講論；無論你是坐在家裏，是行在路上，是躺下、是起來，都要講論。

永恆主的律法完全，能使人精神甦醒；永恆主的法度確定，能使愚直人有智慧。

人的見證、我們若領受、上帝的見證是較大的：因為上帝的見證是為了他兒子而作的。信上帝兒子的、有這見證在他心裏；不信上帝的、已將上帝當做撒謊的了，因為他不信上帝為他兒子所作的見證。上帝將真而永的生命賜給我們；而這生命乃是在他兒子裏面：所見證的就是這個。擁有這兒子的、才有生命；沒有上帝兒子的、就沒有生命。

你的法度我早已知道：是你奠定到永遠的。

要將我所要賜給你的法版放在櫃裏。

摩西把法版安在櫃裏，把杠穿在櫃的兩旁，把除罪蓋安在櫃頂上；
