因为祂为雅各制定法度，为以色列设立律法，又吩咐我们的祖先把这些律法传给儿女，

He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children,

你们为人父母的不要激怒儿女，要照主的教导和警戒养育他们。

并教导你们的儿女，无论在家在外，或起或卧，都要讲论这些律例和诫命。

即在离开埃及后传授给他们的法度、律例和典章。

上帝攻击埃及的时候，为约瑟立下此法度。我在那里听见陌生的声音说：

祂将自己的话传于雅各，将自己的律例和法令指示以色列。

人应该遵循耶和华的训诲和法度。人若不遵循祂的话，必看不到曙光。

是我们所闻所知、世代流传下来的事。我们不要在子孙面前隐瞒事实，要把耶和华当受称颂的作为、祂的权能和所行的奇事告诉下一代。

其实益处非常多！首先，上帝的圣言托付给了犹太人。

把约柜安置在里面，用幔子遮掩。

要把施恩座放在柜上面，把我赐给你的约版放在柜里。

只有活着的人才能像我今天这样赞美你，并且把你的信实告诉下一代。

我拣选了他，是要他教导自己的子孙后代持守我的道、秉公行义。这样，我必实现对他的应许。”

要用这些话教导你们的儿女，无论在家在外、或起或卧，都要讲论；

耶和华的律法完美，能更新生命；耶和华的法度可靠，让愚人有智慧。

我们既然接受人的见证，就更该接受上帝的见证，因为上帝为祂的儿子做了见证。信上帝儿子的人心里有这见证，不信上帝的人等于把上帝当作撒谎的，因为他不信上帝为祂儿子做的见证。这见证就是：上帝已经把永恒的生命赐给我们，这生命在祂儿子里面。人有上帝的儿子，就有这生命；没有上帝的儿子，就没有这生命。

我很早就从你的法度中知道，你的法度永远长存。

把我将要赐给你的两块约版放在柜里。
