我们不要在子孙面前隐瞒事实，要把耶和华当受称颂的作为、祂的权能和所行的奇事告诉下一代。

We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done.

We won’t hide them from our children. We will tell them to those who live after us. We will tell them what the Lord has done that is worthy of praise. We will talk about his power and the wonderful things he has done.

上帝啊，我从小就受你的教导，直到今日我仍传扬你奇妙的作为。上帝啊，就是我年老发白的时候，求你也不要丢弃我，好让我把你的大能告诉下一代，世代相传。

并教导你们的儿女，无论在家在外，或起或卧，都要讲论这些律例和诫命。

“要谨慎、小心，不可忘记亲眼所见的事，要一生铭记在心，并且告诉子子孙孙。

这些石头要在你们中间作记号。以后，倘若你们的子孙问你们，‘这些石头是什么意思？’你们就告诉他们，‘约旦河水在耶和华的约柜前曾经被截断，当约柜过河的时候，河水被截断了。这些石头要在以色列人当中作为永久的纪念。’”

因耶和华为我们所做的一切，我要述说祂的慈爱和祂可歌可颂的作为，述说祂本着怜悯和大爱赐给以色列人的厚恩。祂说：“他们的确是我的子民，不会背叛我。”因此，祂做他们的救主。祂苦他们所苦，亲自拯救他们。祂本着慈爱和怜悯救赎了他们，自古以来一直扶持、照顾他们。他们却叛逆，使祂的圣灵忧伤。于是，祂与他们为敌，亲自攻击他们。后来，他们想起古时候，想起了摩西和他的百姓，便问，带领百姓及其牧者摩西从海里出来的那位在哪里？将自己的圣灵降在他们中间的那位在哪里？用荣耀的臂膀扶持摩西，在他们面前把海水分开，使自己威名永存的那位在哪里？带领他们经过大海，犹如马行平川不会失脚的那位在哪里？耶和华的灵使他们得到安歇，犹如牲畜下到山谷。耶和华啊，你就是这样引领你的子民，以树立自己荣耀的名。求你从天上垂顾，从你圣洁、荣耀的居所垂看。你的热忱和大能在哪里呢？难道你不再眷爱、怜悯我们吗？虽然亚伯拉罕不认识我们，以色列不承认我们，但你是我们的父亲。耶和华啊，你是我们的父亲，你自古以来就是我们的救赎主。耶和华啊！你为何使我们偏离你的路，使我们硬着心不敬畏你呢？求你为了你的仆人，你的产业——以色列各支派而改变心意！你的圣民曾短暂地拥有你的圣所，如今它已被我们的敌人踏平。我们如此沦落，好像从未被你治理过，从来不属于你。

那时，要告诉你们的子孙，‘这节期是纪念我们离开埃及时耶和华为我们所做的一切。’

并对以色列人说：“以后，你们的子孙问你们这堆石头是什么意思，你们就告诉他们，‘这是代表以色列人曾在干地上走过约旦河。’因为你们的上帝耶和华为了让你们过河而使约旦河成为干地，就像祂从前为了让我们过红海而使海成为干地一样。这是要让天下万民都知道耶和华有无比的能力，要让你们永远敬畏你们的上帝耶和华。”

耶和华啊，你为何远远站着？为何在我遭难时隐藏起来？恶人狂妄地追逼穷苦人，愿他们落入自己所设的圈套。恶人夸耀自己的贪欲，贪婪的人憎恨、咒诅耶和华。他们狂傲自大，心中没有上帝，从不寻求耶和华。他们凡事顺利，对你的审判不屑一顾，对所有的仇敌嗤之以鼻。

高唱感恩之歌，述说你的一切奇妙作为。

你们的儿女问你们守这节期的意义时，

我好在锡安的城门口称颂你，因你的拯救而欢乐。

将来你们的子孙问起这件事的意义，你们就回答，‘耶和华曾经用大能的手把我们从受奴役之地——埃及领出来。

那是智者的教导，是他们未曾隐瞒的祖训。
