We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done.

We won’t hide them from our children. We will tell them to those who live after us. We will tell them what the Lord has done that is worthy of praise. We will talk about his power and the wonderful things he has done.

這些石頭在你們中間可以作為證據。日後，你們的子孫問你們說：『這些石頭是甚麼意思？』你們就對他們說：『這是因為約旦河的水在耶和華的約櫃前斷絕；約櫃過約旦河的時候，約旦河的水就斷絕了。這些石頭要作以色列人永遠的紀念。』」

我要照耶和華一切所賜給我們的，提起他的慈愛和美德，並他向以色列家所施的大恩；這恩是照他的憐恤和豐盛的慈愛賜給他們的。他說：他們誠然是我的百姓，不行虛假的子民；這樣，他就作了他們的救主。他們在一切苦難中，他也同受苦難；並且他面前的使者拯救他們；他以慈愛和憐憫救贖他們；在古時的日子常保抱他們，懷搋他們。他們竟悖逆，使主的聖靈擔憂。他就轉作他們的仇敵，親自攻擊他們。那時，他們想起古時的日子－摩西和他百姓，說：將百姓和牧養他全羣的人從海裏領上來的在哪裏呢？將他的聖靈降在他們中間的在哪裏呢？使他榮耀的膀臂在摩西的右手邊行動，在他們前面將水分開，要建立自己永遠的名，帶領他們經過深處，如馬行走曠野，使他們不致絆跌的在哪裏呢？耶和華的靈使他們得安息，彷彿牲畜下到山谷；照樣，你也引導你的百姓，要建立自己榮耀的名。求你從天上垂顧，從你聖潔榮耀的居所觀看。你的熱心和你大能的作為在哪裏呢？你愛慕的心腸和憐憫向我們止住了。亞伯拉罕雖然不認識我們，以色列也不承認我們，你卻是我們的父。耶和華啊，你是我們的父；從萬古以來，你名稱為「我們的救贖主」。耶和華啊，你為何使我們走差離開你的道，使我們心裏剛硬、不敬畏你呢？求你為你僕人，為你產業支派的緣故，轉回來。你的聖民不過暫時得這產業；我們的敵人已經踐踏你的聖所。我們好像你未曾治理的人，又像未曾得稱你名下的人。

當那日，你要告訴你的兒子說：『這是因耶和華在我出埃及的時候為我所行的事。

對以色列人說：「日後你們的子孫問他們的父親說：『這些石頭是甚麼意思？』你們就告訴他們說：『以色列人曾走乾地過這約旦河；因為耶和華－你們的神在你們前面使約旦河的水乾了，等着你們過來，就如耶和華－你們的神從前在我們前面使紅海乾了，等着我們過來一樣，要使地上萬民都知道，耶和華的手大有能力，也要使你們永遠敬畏耶和華－你們的神。』」

耶和華啊，你為甚麼站在遠處？在患難的時候為甚麼隱藏？惡人在驕橫中把困苦人追得火急；願他們陷在自己所設的計謀裏。因為惡人以心願自誇；貪財的背棄耶和華，並且輕慢他。惡人面帶驕傲，說：耶和華必不追究；他一切所想的都以為沒有神。凡他所做的，時常穩固；你的審判超過他的眼界。至於他一切的敵人，他都向他們噴氣。

我好發稱謝的聲音，也要述說你一切奇妙的作為。

你們的兒女問你們說：『行這禮是甚麼意思？』

好叫我述說你一切的美德；我必在錫安城的門因你的救恩歡樂。

日後，你的兒子問你說：『這是甚麼意思？』你就說：『耶和華用大能的手將我們從埃及為奴之家領出來。

就是智慧人從列祖所受，傳說而不隱瞞的。（
